OverviewFor those of you who have been around since Halo’s glory days, the name “Clue” will ring a bell. Based upon the classic board game (and the silly, silly movie), the game was one that relied heavily upon honor rules to work. In that game, there was only one person who was the murderer, and he was the only one who could shoot or kill. That is unless you caught him in the act of shooting or killing. In that case, you could fire back without remorse. Needless to say, the gametype was broken, and games often ended with baseless accusations as to who broke the rules (as most games with honor rules do).
Clueless (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4663), however, took the concept of Clue and, with a couple of modifications, turned it into a one-rule game: no assassinations. However, even that rule is supported by the scoring system, such that if you want to win, you won’t kill anyone by any method other than what is prescribed: sticky grenades. Each map that’s built for the gametype has three sticky grenades set to spawn randomly about the map. It takes about two rounds to catch on to a few of the grenade spawns on a map, but once you do, the game becomes pretty intense.
There are four rounds of no more than three minutes, and each round grants players a single life to live. It is your job to avoid being stuck, or even dying by the hand of another player until you can stick them with your grenades. However with the scoring mechanisms that are in place, it is generally not a good idea to start throwing grenades about willy-nilly. If you throw a grenade and it kills someone without sticking them, they gain a point while you lose one. This can be exploited in one particularly jerk move that you can do to someone, if you want to rob them of a point: sidestep their stick, but then stay on top of it.
As of yet, there are a total of two maps that work for Clueless (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4663): Sunshade (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=92222590), which is set in and around the pipe-side of Ghost Town, and Training Day (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=92397251), which uses teleport nodes of doom to keep you comfortably within the confines of Rat’s Nest’s interior. This gametype will not work on any map other than these (or any others that become listed in that thread after this feature thread is posted).
So if you haven’t already, download and play around of Clueless (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=92222539) on either Sunshade (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=92222590) or Training Day (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=92397251), and be sure to congratulate Boston on a well-deserved, long-awaited feature!
