I have had some pretty shitty luck with electronics, Ive gone through 5 Ps2's 4 xbox 360's, Soo many Car amplifiers, a handful of of subwoofers, a shaw PVR, my JVC 46" Digital Rear Projection TV, and today.... UGH, my 48" flatscreen LCD TV shit the bed (its only 6 monthes old and cost me almost 3gs and Samsung is trying their best to fuck me around with service)
So I wanna know what you have to say, who do you trust the most for electronics? who is the worst for service? spill the beans...
Id really appreciate to hear what you all have to say!

I know very little about brands, but we have all different brands of things and have had little misfortune with any of them. Our Insignia TV is having issues after a few years but it is still under warranty so that shouldn't be too much of a problem in the end.
Knowing your luck, I would suggest that you always opt for the extended warranty when you buy things :)

When it comes to electronics, I usually do get the extended warranty. When my JVC broke they were pretty quick to act, they sent out a team of guys to move the TV, and fixed it in a few days (it was only a $5 dollar part but it took them many hours to find and would have cost me close to $700 when everything was finished) overall though I had no complaints, however my Samsung is another story, they are being complete dicks, trying to tell me that the warranty was up before I bought it, I had to get a bill of sale faxed over to them and now they have yet to call me back.
I tried Online Support with about the same luck, here is how it went down: Dave: Hi, thanks for reaching out to Samsung tech support. How can I help you today?
Don: I bought a samsung 46" LCD TV about 6 or 7 monthes ago (LN46b650TIF) about a couple monthes back i noticed my TV made a sound, sort of like a buzz. Today I turned it on and it works, but the screen flashes, alot like a strobe light, everything is clear but it is very very difficult to watch. I originally bought this TV from LEONS and they referred me to you guys. I contacted your service dept and they informed me my tv is out of warranty ( even though I bought it with a 1 year manufacturer warranty) so they asked me to contact leons again and get them to fax you guys a copy of the bill of sale with a transaction number ( you guys are acting like im trying to scam you or something) and apparently you will contact me when you receive this fax. the fax was sent immediately. I have still yet to hear back from you guys. I just want my TV fixed and I am frankly appauled with your lack of service. I am not a scam artist, I bought an expensive samsung TV and not only did it break within a year, but it seems as though you guys dont care
Dave: Please allow me to go through the inquiry.
Don: please spare me the automated macros, i thought this was a live chat
Dave: This is live chat and I am a trained technician, I apologize for inconvenience and want to assist you in this regard.
Don: sorry if i come across as rude, but i have had little help with this and i am becoming frustrated. thanks for your help dave
Dave: Do you have purchase receipt for this TV ?
Dave: I appreciate your cooperation with Samsung service.
Don: i am unable to find it, however leons has a complete record. i am finding this difficult as i am dealing with a 3rd party
Dave: Have you registered this TV with Samsung online?
Don: i was unaware i could 'register' a tv
Dave: Let me know the serial number of your TV.
Don: sure
Dave: Thank you.
Don: AUHR3CPS305101Z
Don: i believe that is the serial number, it has "S/N" next to it
Dave: Let me check for the information.
Dave: Don, if you have purchase receipt, you will get warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Don: a copy of the purchase receipt has been faxed to you guys via LEONS
Dave: If you do not have warranty, you will get warranty for 1 from the date of manufacture of the unit.
Don: i do have warranty
Don: this tv has approximately 6 monthes of use and i purchsed it in october
Dave: Can you email me the purchase receipt now?
Don: like i said i am unable to find it, I contacted leons and they have everything to verify this
Don: would you like there # to verify this?
Dave: Can you take a copy of proof of purchase from Leons?
Don: u mean go get another?
Don: they faxed you guys a copy earlier today
Don: 1800 7267864 is the number i was told to have it faxed
Dave: Did you contact phone support to get this fax number?
Don: yes
Don: they gave me a transaction number as well
Don: 2007323032
Dave: Would you mind holding a few minutes while I gather the required information on your request?
Don: no problem
Dave: Thank you.
Don: thanks for your help again dave
Dave: My pleasure.
Dave: Thank you for holding.
Dave: Don, the ticket number you have provided seems to be invalid.
Dave: I recommend you contact our phone support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864)any day between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 P.M, EST.
Dave: We do not have access to fax.
Don: oh
Dave: I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
Don: maybe i fucked the transaction number up
Don: 2007523032
Dave: Please give me 2 minutes to check this number.
Don: sorry bud
Dave: No problem.
Dave: Thank you for waiting. Don, this number is also not a valid number.
Don: lol
Dave: Please contact our phone support number, they have access to fax and they can assist you in this regard.
Don: i wish it was as simple as "its a brand new samsung, we will fix it and verify your warranty"
Don: would it be possible to have it fixed, then verify the warranty
Don: i mean im no lieing i bought it legitimately,
Dave: Yes, we can update the warranty status, however, we need the purchase receipt to update the warranty.
Don: what specifically do you need on the purchase receipt
Don: is there a number or something
Don: i can contact leons and get this number
Don: please understand what an incredible inconvienience this is
Don: i just need the tv fixed, would it be possible to dispatch a service team
Don: i can track down any number you guys require, i just dont have the original receipt handy
Dave: I can understand your situation. We need a copy of complete purchase receipt (email or Fax), please contact Leons and get a copy of purchase receipt from them.
Dave: If you dont' have original receipt, you can get a copy from the place of purchase.
Don: so lame
Don: how is it possible you dont have access to a retailer you guys directly supply
Don: is it really that much to ask to simply call them and verify this, the operator at leons can directly fax YOU the copy
Don: or email or postage or pigeon courier, you could save me alot of hassle by making one phone call man
Dave: We do not have authority/facility to call resellers. I hope you can understand.
Don: I understand this will be the last samsung aplliance I buy, I thank you for you help dave, but I am incredibly frustrated with Samsungs lack of service. If you guys made a quality product in the first place i would have been spared this royal fuckaround in the first place
Dave: As reseller to send a copy of receipt to your email and then get back to us when you have the email.
Don: sorry for the inconvience Dave, thanks again for you help, tell your management team they need to pull their heads out of their asses
Dave: You can report this to our Executive Customer Relations department(ECR) at 800-726-7864 they are available from 9:00am - 7:00pm(EST), Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (EST), Saturday – Sunday. Have the model number and serial number of your TV on hand when you call.
Don: im sure your customer relations department is equally as effective as your service, thanks again
Dave: Our ECR team can assist you in this regard.
Dave: Do you have any more questions that I can answer?
Don: wanna buy a broken tv
