Most of you are probably familiar with our affiliate, Monitor Built. They are a like-minded community about forging, and, even more so, friends; known for such things as the ever infamous Harold, Saturday Night Showdowns and earning the Bungie Community Spotlight.
As everybody is aware, it's a dog-eat-dog world out there. Times have been tough for us smaller forging sites, especially in the downtime before the release of Reach. Members wander off, often to the larger sites because of the consistent activity levels. However, there are those in the smaller communities who hang on, because they enjoy the community, friends and atmosphere. Sadly, this isn't always enough to keep an entire site afloat.
If you're the astute type, you would have noticed that many of Monitor Built's members have started posting more and being active on XF. This is because, regretfully, MB has decided to shut its doors. But, where one door closes, another opens. XForgery will be welcoming the members of Monitor Built into the Community here, in hopes that they will find the move enjoyable and make this their new home.
You'll be seeing lots of new faces floating around, possibly sporting the Monitor Built Pet http://www.xforgery.com/forum/images/pets/pet3_8.png, in memory of their amazing community. Be sure to welcome them aboard and help them get accustomed to their surroundings.

EDIT: YEA!. Everyone at MB thought this was a good idea so i kind of went with it. Lets hope so. (I love XF)

Monitorbuilt didn't die. Well sure, the website will be shut down, but it's not the site itself that made MB special, it's the community, and the community can live on through XF thanks to Null's generous offer.
Hopefully I can get involved in this community as much as I was at Monitorbuilt. Oh, and thanks for mentioning Harold in the post Nully. :D

I was pretty shocked by this news considering they had quite a few spotlights, but **** happens and as stated before, it's always been survival of the fittest. It sucks, but that's life for ya.

Aww you didn't announce that other super cool thing that's currently under beta and open to the public?

Oh hey guise.
I was particularity happy about this, because I can only keep track of one site at a time, so I kinda had to give up on XF, and focus on MB. Then MB just dwindled down to a small community of people who USED to play halo alot, but no one really did, until recently. Now I have an excuse to pop in my Halo disk instead of something else >.>

Welcome one welcome all. Very sad to see monitor built close... but its good the community is staying together. It was an interesting process, glad it all worked out.

Pirates, it's been forever! I know quite a few MB people were on H3A also. So I may know some of you... Welcome to everyone else I don't know though. :p

It's good to see that you guys are going strong though! I'm actually glad I checked MB's home page and noticed that there was a move occurring.

Anyway, funny thing is that it seems like there's always been a close relation with XF and MB members. I said somewhere on MB that most of our SnS's included XF members to fill in some extra spots. I also remember that when us MB members still played custom games on Halo 3, we would also be playing with many XF members. We've always played together online, but I guess we're finally going to start posting here regularly!

I liked Monitor Built, mainly because of their name, it was just something that I enjoyed seeing when ever I check my favorites thing.
Oh well though, things need to move on eventually

I have been a member of Monitor Built for the best part of a year and I'm sad to see it go. But I've always been more active over here, so this migration is very positive move in my opinion. As sad as it is for such a great site to go.

Well I'm sure people from MB will still refer to themselves as well... people from MB, but after a while everyone should just fit right in.

Lol, well it all started with Evan, (even though I actually didn't believe his name was actually Evan for a while). The only thing I miss so far, is the lack of people I know on a more personal level. That was the great thing about MB. Everyone knew everyone. Oh well, that'll fix with time
Something I've noticed here is that ones online personality is how we identify here, rather than real names, etc. It'spurty cool.

I know I shouldn't come into a community insulting others but that's EXACTLY what I was going to say.
Oh well, Blue can be my new Tyler. :D (Fiat Luxor, Artifex.)
Blue acts like this because he's a very protective parent. He doesn't want blue shell to be in harms way. It's a natural reaction.

And it's that reason alone that makes our little Blue Shell come to me whenever he wants something. He gives me those little puppy dog wings and I just can't resist saying yes.

I can see Blue's outlook on this, and I understand it. We're not going to be like a completely separate community within XF really, well I don't speak for the others but I imagine they won't. I mean, most of us were already on here, we're just more active now.

He has personal issues with some members that are active here. It has nothing to do with the site, i just believe he doesn't want to start a problem. Don't quote me on this though, because he might have another reason, this is just what I have heard.

He logged in earlier actually. I talked to him on Skype last night and basically he told me that MB was dead to him once the site was gone, so there was no point in migrating. :(

Tyler will try but I don't see him making a commitment like he use to a long time ago on MB.
Anyways yes we do call each other by our first names :D I guess where we were such a small community and we all knew each other there was no reason but to tell each other our names.

Pets are not actually in your sig - they are over it. You actually have a pet. Its in the bottom right corner.

Yeah I added that there myself, mainly due to the fact that I didn't know what we were suppose to do with the 'pet' but thanks for clearing that up.

Ironically, since you used the exact same image, the pet didn't show up because they exactly laid over one another. You already have the pet, it's just the exact same as the image in your signature. I just removed the image in your sig, and you're good to.

I made an account here a while back, and pretty well did nothing with it after posting a couple maps. I was never an active member anywhere, I mostly lurked, maybe my attention was spread across too many sites, or what ever, but I think I'll give this another go, especially if others from MB (Mike) migrate over here. I never thought this would happen, but I honestly don't really mind the change. Gives me an excuse to actually come here instead of always forgetting about it, and MB had a decent run. Most of the people I want to be in contact with, I have within reach by other means, which I'm sure others do to. Might take some time to adjust to larger community, but at least Pirates isn't staff here :P

I personally think you should receive some sort of award over here for getting Addict on MB, which is no easy task. For those that don't know you get the Addict rank at MB for getting three map features there, which isn't all that easy. In fact, we only got 2 addicts in out entire site's history. Maybe he can get supporter for a certain amount of time over here or something, but I think he definitely should get something for his work.
(And if you DO decide to give him something over here for getting Addict at MB keep in mind Urban Myth was also an Addict.)

Well, here's the thing though. Their maps have already earned a great amount of attention over here and they've both recieved supporter time and XF points for whichever ones were featured. I remember a time where it seemed like they never lost their status as supporters because they were getting so many features XD
I realize how difficult it is to achieve the rank of Addict at Monitor Built, but would it really be fair to double the reward for their features after they've already been rewarded?

Well that rank was very well deserved over at MB bro. I remember at SnS when everyone wanted to play conquest lol. But people like me, Zest, Noob, all of us had Monitor over at MB, and then of course Paul had Admin, and everyone else. Its different from having 500+ posts on one site and having a high rank to coming here and having nothing. But this change will be better I think.

I also have to agree with Letol though.

I know Colin. I didnt mean it like I wanted it to carry over. I was just saying for people who got something like addict (like GG) it would be hard to come here and not have that any more. I got Monitor for being active, and I think making that shitty MB video lol (still glad I made that), but I wasnt saying that it should carry over. I think it would be stupid to have a rank here with like 10 total posts lol, so i agree with you Colin
