Description:
Yah, I know. My first map submission since, I think, Cavern V2 right?. It has been some time hasn't it ^_^
MAP FINISHED!
This is my 2nd Far Cry 2 map (first being the challenge one yet to be released) so I don't quite have the editor completely down yet. More effort is going into the challenge map than this one at the moment.
The map is basically a sky Fortress, being suspended a good 1/2 mile up in the sky. I created it using mainly colonial and Fort objects. Never have I loved and hated object snapping soooo much ^_^
It is a symmetrical map with bases on opposite ends. The bases are connected by both a short bridge and a spiral (like) staircase. All roofs are accessible (aside from each team's respective headquarters) as are the bordering walls. Barriers on the edges protect anyone from an accidental walk off but you will need to be careful of jumping close to the edges.
The buildings are all individually decorated so they should be somewhat unique to help you tell where you are in the center plaza of the map. Bases are located in the front and back with gardens on the sides. The giant cables suspending the map are walkable but don't think you can gpo too far before you hit boundary limits.
There may be a small lag factor in this map due to the fact that it is very object heavy. Only a few spots (mainly by the shade of the trees or when looking at the entire map from a high point) does the lag bar pass the middle (yellow). This map would have a LARGE lag factor but it has a LARGE number of occlusion blockers everywhere. Don't worry though, they are placed in a way that they shouldn't interfere with what ypou can see in any part of the map.
Team Deathmatch has teams starting on opposite sides in their relative bases. To keep from spawn camping (which does seem to be a BIG problem with many of the maps I have played) there are also spawns for each team in the center area of the map as well.
Capture the Diamond has the diamond for the teams in the upper floor of their bases on their respective sides of the map
Uprising points are placed in the very center of the map, and at the top of the upper right and lower left towers.
