Welcome to another edition of XForgery Firefight Fridays for Friday, June 11th to Saturday, June 12th!

The time has come for you to set aside your multiplayer feuds, grab that silenced pistol, and show the covenant that the flying zeroes are not going down without a fight! It wouldn't be fun unless there was some competition on the side, and that's where XFFF comes in!

This week's XFFF is the beginning of some changes that you guys voted for in this thread. (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8929) This week, we are extending the playing window to two days (Friday and Saturday) and this is the first XFFF to start every other week. More changes will be happening in the coming weeks.

This event will take place on Alpha Site, where you'll be fighting for your lives in an abandoned ONI installation.

What is XFFF?

XFFF or "XForgery Firefight Fridays" is an event that happens every Friday. This event will test your team's firefighting skill with other teams as you compete for the top of the leaderboards for glory and prizes. This won't be no 2 hour event or an event in which your team must show up at this day during this certain time. No. This will be an TWO DAY, 48 HOUR EVENT! Yes, that means you can now play XFFF before going to school!

What does that mean? Instead of just playing one game during that 24 hour span, you can play as many games as your thumbs will allow you to in an attempt to get the highest score. Sounds easy right? Well it isn't. The covenant are tenacious and will do everything in their power to destroy your chances for glory! Teamwork is essential to success.

NEW DIVISION!

In case you haven't noticed, XFFF has cut out the fat and added a new competitive division into the mix! One that focuses on aggressiveness, speed, and insane gameplay. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the BLITZ DIVISION!

How does this division work you ask? Instead of playing for hours on end to even have a shot of winning like the Classic Division (formerly called Competitive), players have 15 MINUTES to kill as many covenant as possible. Once the 15 minutes are up, the Team Leader must end the game right then and there, even if they're ripping the covenant a new one!

Unfortunately, there's a catch to this new division. The first catch is you have to play on legendary. The second catch is you must have a free spot on your file share to save a film of your team's 15 minute slaughter fest. 'Why save my film' you ask? It allows us to not only get some clips for a potential montage (no promises), but it will ensure we get the most accurate score for your session.

We don't expect people to end the game exactly at 15 minutes (because people forget when they're having fun), so don't worry if your match lasted 15 minutes and 10 seconds. Long as you add the video with your submission, we'll figure out the rest.

You can find all the rules for this new division in the rules section, and if you need anything else cleared up, just ask.

In case you were wondering, Solo play is allowed in this division although it may not give you the best chances at winning. Trust me, you will want extra bodies at your side.

How do I sign up for XFFF?

If you want to register as a team leader, send me or another active event director a private message with the title "XFFF registration", or sign up in this thread. From there you will be assigned a team number for your squad. You have until Thursday, June 10th @ 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time) to register as a team leader.

As team leader, you are responsible for getting a team together to compete. Also by registering as team leader, you and your team have already read the rules and regulations for this event (see the rules section in this post if you need a refresher). Failure to follow these rules and your game will not count.

What if I don't want to be Team Leader?

If you want to participate regardless if you're team leader or not, you must register on XForgery.com along with having a valid gamertag in your profile (you can add your gamertag by clicking on "User CP" at the top of this page and then clicking "edit your details" under the control panel tab). If you've been visiting this site as a guest for a while and been thinking about becoming a member, now is a good time to register. :)

You can register here: http://www.xforgery.com/forum/register.php

Be sure to check the list of team leaders in this thread to see who has an open spot. You can always PM them to get more information.

How does my team submit our scores?

The designated Team Leader will submit the team's highest firefighting score to me or an event director. It's best to wait until Saturday to submit your scores. However don't wait too long on submitting your score, as you have until Sunday, June 13th @ 11:59 AM (Central Standard Time) to submit your final scores.

You can submit your scores anytime before that but just remember that if you beat that score and fail to submit that game, I will only count the last score submitted. Be sure to have a valid bungie.net link to your carnage report because anyone can make up a number.

Do I have to get a full party of four to participate?

No! You do not need a full party to participate, if you and another Xforgery member can get the highest score as a duo or maybe a party of three, then by all means go for it. Just make sure one of you registers as a team leader. Just remember, solo play is not allowed in the Classic division.

How big of a window do I have for my team to play our firefight games?

For Classic and BLITZ divisions:

Friday, June 11th @ 12:00 AM - Saturday, June 12th @ 11:59 PM (Central Standard Time)

West Coast: 10:00 PM (Thursday) - 9:59 PM (Saturday)

Mountain: 11:00 PM (Thursday) - 10:59 PM (Saturday)

East Coast 1:00 AM (Friday) - 12:59 AM (Sunday)

(!) XFFF Rules and Regulations [IMPORTANT INFO INSIDE] (REVISED 4.26.10) (!)

Click on the spoiler below to read all the rules for both divisions.

Rules

Rules in red are for competitive division only.
Rules in blue are for BLITZ division only.

- Firefight games must be on "Legendary" difficulty to count.

- You must play on the firefight map "Alpha Site".

- All participating players must be registered here as a member of Xforgery.com.

- Guest accounts are not allowed.

- Solo play is not allowed in Classic division. You must play in a party of 2 or more.

- Solo play is allowed in BLITZ division.

- Banned Xforgery members are not allowed (unless the ban expires before the event begins)

Note: If a member of your team is not an Xforgery member, a banned member, or a guest, your game will not count.

- If you want to participate in the competitive division regardless if you're team leader or not, you must register on XForgery.com along with having a valid gamertag in your profile.

- Before the squad can play. One person must have a dedicated Team Leader to submit games they've played to me or an event director. They can only submit this information via PM with the name "XFFF Best game". You must also provide a link to the game's carnage report on bungie.net. If you play in BLITZ division, provide a video link of your game in your file share.

- Team Leader must register with me or an event director prior to starting the event.

- Anyone can be Team leader. However if there's already an abundance of Team Leaders, it might be best to fill up the parties of other Team Leaders first.

- Your party can participate in both divisions, but you can only win in one division per week. Choose wisely as to which division your party will pursue.

- Since Team Leader is the only person that MUST register, he/she can pick any 3 XForgery members that are willing to play, and these spots can be replaced on the fly with another XForgery member if the person doesn't show up. This should eliminate the problem of team members not showing up or the team being a guy short.

- If you're a team leader and want to join with another team leader in his party, you are now allowed to do that. However please be advised that the purpose of team leader is to give other people the opportunity of playing firefight with you. Also by joining another team leader in his party you are no longer team leader until you create your own party once again. A party of 3-4 team leaders is still illegal.

- If you register as a Team Leader, you must play with your team sometime during the event or your team will be listed as a no show.

- Team Numbers will be assigned to Team Leaders in the order they register which will start with the number 0 (irony). Then proceed with 1,2, etc.

Example:

- Team 0 (Team 0 Leader)
- Team 1 (Team 1 Leader)
- Team 2 (Team 2 Leader)
- Team 3 (Team 3 Leader)

- You must play in the time period provided. If you start your session a minute before the time period officially starts, your game will not count. If you start your session a minute before the time period ends and the game goes on for 2 hours, it will still count.

Example 1:

I start my game at 11:58 AM. It ends at 12:10 PM. However the event doesn’t begin until 12:00 PM. That game will not count.

Example 2:

I start my game at 11:59 PM. It ends at 12:30 AM. The event itself ends at 11:59 PM. Because the game started while the event was still going on even though it was the last minute, the game will still count.

NOTE: If you’re a team that wants to squeeze another game at the last minute, don’t do it at the absolute last minute. It might be 11:59 on your clock, but Bungie’s clock might say 12:01.

- Team Leaders must submit their final score by Sunday, June 13th @ 11:59 AM (Central Standard Time).

- You can play as many games as you want within the time period provided. Only your best Firefight session will count (be sure to specify which division you played in).

- The team with the highest firefight score wins the event and the prize for that particular division.

Note: If you leave the team and they post a higher score without you. You’re no longer eligible to win the prize.

What are the prizes for winning?

Each member of the winning team will receive the following prizes for this week (depending on division):
