so i'm not exactly raking in quite the disposable income right now, so i'll probably only be getting one or two new games until like after the new year so i want the opinion of those who own said games. i've basically narrowed it down to a few games.
<insert your opinions here>
thanks
note: please don't vote twice unless you really need to. voting three times is right out

Fable 2 is sort of short, you might want to rent it.

The horde mode in gow2 is amazing, 5 players online fighting back waves of enemies. I've had the game for 2 days now and all I've been playing is this mode. Thankfully I got the game working with my 360. Basically all the problems with the multiplayer advantages have been solved and there is a matchmaking mode now much like halo 3. Even though many people think this game is just more of the same, it actually has more than enough new content to keep it really fresh and the campaign is amazing. truly epic...

I like Fallout 3 so far. Some people have said if you don't like Oblivion then don't bother, but I don't see the similarities as much as some people.
With that new Zombie mode in COD:WaW, I am going to have to take a look at that one; and I also need to get the demo for Mirror's Edge.
You missed one great game coming out this month......... Left 4 Dead!
If I had to choose two from the list, I would pick......
Far Cry 2
I can't decide!!!

I voted Far Cry 2 and Gears 2. There's also CoD: WaW you have to think about too.

Seeing as we only support Far Cry 2 from that list, that's what I voted.

he didnt buy far cry 2 he only rented it after he had already bought fable 2.
fable 2:awesome, short story but things to do.
far cry 2: map editor awesome, gameplay good. its a keeper
GH-World Tour: bought it, good, playlist just okay. I think I might be trading it in for CoD WaW or Gears 2, along with gh3.

Here are my thoughts on each game (obviously based on others' opinions)
Gears of War 2:
"Best Game of the Year/Ever" according to many. The online play looks great, Campaign is stunningly awesome, Horde mode is REALLY, REALLY enticing. And it is an entirely new experience compared to the first, however for me that doesn't matter because I don't own the first one anyways. I'm a little bit concerned about the gore because my parents are the type that're concerned about that kind of thing. But last game there was a switch for it, so I can probably just turn off gore when they're around. So that one is in my top 3 at least.
Fable II:
A lot of interactivity and the RPG element is apparently really great. Some of you guys are saying it's short, but there are a lot of side quests, and with RPGs you can go on forever. The co-op thing seems nice. I'm just not THAT attracted to it.
Far Cry 2:
Campaign is great, a lot of weapons, vehicles are good and all that jazz. The level creator is AMAZING! Exclamation mark! A lot of people have been complaining about some problems. That's slightly reppelling. Of course I sort of have this obligation in the back of my head because it is another map-creation game on this site. And I have to bring my beautiful creations to this site.
Fallout 3:
Really, really good. Like Oblivion, but with guns. But much, much more. And even Oblivion is good enough. Everyone and their dog has told me its great. Yes, this game gives dogs the power to talk. That is all. Probably my #1
Mirrors Edge:
Love it. But sorry I don't think this is the one. No online makes me sad. And I need online to make sure the game gives me my money's worth.
Call of Duty 5:
To early to say. But if it lives up to CoD 4, then its definetly going to be worth it.

Hate to say it, but just rent it, if anything. Don't get caught up in the launch-week hype. Honestly, I regret buying it (and ignore my vote for it in the poll :x). Campaign & Horde are fun, but they can only last so long..
The thing about Gears is that, it's online is MUCH more frustrating then it is fun. Sure, you could make the argument that I'm bad, etc, and I won't deny it, but it's just not fun. Unless fun is wanting to bash your controller against the wall.

Eh thanks for the heads up. And yeah I'm sure a few more problems will arise as it gets older. But, still this is just a first perspective

It all depends on your own perception of the game and as you said your skill level. If your frustrated with something that takes time and practice to get good at then your not going to have fun with this. But, I mostly play with my friends in private matches so it's all in good fun.
