On the many days of forging maps in Halo 3, I have had an amazing time creating competitive maps for the community, but the majority of the maps I have been reccomended, are lacking. So the past week, I came with the idea of the Default Photo. The Default Photo is a picture of YOUR map when your are waiting in the custom games pre-game lobby. For Example, when playing a user created content from Sandbox, you only see a picture of the defalut Sandbox, but when you use the Defalut Photo idea via Forge, you would see a interiging part of your custom map. It works like this, you start a Forge game on Halo: Reach, then you got into edit mode and select Defalut Photo, once you select Defalut Photo, the HUD will change into a first person camera which will allow you to take a picture of your map. This idea will also let players see ahead of time if the map is a thing of beauty or a screaming, death trap. So reply to this topic with constructive critisim please.

Sorry about that option but there wasn't one that just said "Not a good idea".
The quality would be too small for a decent view and can't you just look at pictures of the map on a forging website?

I voted "Absolutely terrible, go die" because, as Bazza said, there was no "Not a good idea" option. I think this wouldn't work one bit, because people would just make a separate area off to the site and take a picture of that.

I don't see what's wrong with the idea. It's not necessary or a big issue, but it's a nice idea. You guys need to chill.

Far Cry 2 had a similar functionality, and it could be a nice idea. I think the one issue is going to be storing/downloading the image data for that. Technically not a huge increase in size, but it's just that much more to receive/store/send/display on Bungie's side.

I always liked it in Far Cry. I thought it was nice.
Also though you guys are thinking dumb. You're thinking like it is Halo 3. You have to remember that in Halo: Reach the "default photo" is that huge banner in the top left. About a fifth of the screen. So it is not a matter of size anymore because it would be easy to see clearly as long as you're on a decent sized TV. If it was still the smaller sized image like in Halo 3 I might have said no but I still think it's a good idea. I voted great idea.

I just thought of another great idea. You know how you can sort Active Roster by XBL Party or XBL Friends list. What if you could make a custom list of like just XF members or just people that Forge on your friends list. I think that would be cool. Then you wouldn't have to add a bunch of XF members. You could just put them into a custom Active Roster list.

I don't see how it could be a bad thing, but I would not be disappointed if it was not there.

Except more conveniant. I like this idea too.
But I really like this idea, Jenkins. Now go present it to bungie. ;)

Pretty much except you wouldn't have to add A Forgery A. An example is this:
On Twitter you can make lists of users so I could make a list of people from XF with Twitter. I don't have to follow their tweets directly but I could just have my list follow them. Then I have a list of just XF people. If you don't get it make a Twitter and check out the list system. It would be pretty useful imo
The only downside I can see is a bunch of kids putting like MLG Players or famous Machinimators on their lists and then just joining that guys session in progress. Maybe people could authorize only certain people to add them to lists. idk but I think it would be a nice addition.
