So I saw the E3 news about LBP and I said to myself, "OMG! Yes."

You see I love sandbox games. And this game is entirely sandbox. Basically they took a sandbox and put it in disc form. The same way Bungie took ecstasy... and then put it into disc form.

At any rate, you could say this game was getting me high. But then, lol, everywhere I see stuff about it I see the PS3 label on stuff (game previews, game trailers, etc.), but never the 360 label. I figure its because sometime people only put one console label on stuff like that. But then I go on the official LBP page and, alas, there is no 360 label.

Then I do some research and find articles like this (from Xbox 360 Fanboy)

Devs say Little Big Planet not possible on the 360

"We couldn't have made it on the Xbox 360 and the reason for that is actually because we designed it around the PS3's strengths" says the Media Molecule folks, explaining that they built Little Big Planet around the PS3's architecture, Blu-ray disc capacity and that "having a hard drive on every unit makes a difference." But they aren't entirely anti-360, admitting that the console is an "incredibly capable machine" that, theoretically, could be home to LBP, "but it'd be a different game." Ouch! And all along we were under the impression that LBP could eventually release to the Xbox Live Arcade way under the 150MB Arcade limit. We guess we were wrong ... ZING!

Anyways so I thought that it was just because there was some sort of deal going on and eventually Media Molecule would release it to the 360 (like with Resident Evil 4, Gamecubes only good M-rated exclusive title, until PS2 got it).

But then they say it's not possible. And so I'm like sad faic.

LBP and Media Molecule make me cry.

Yeah but if theres any updates (which I'm still looking out for) or even hints at it, it'd be cool to know it.

And by the way, yeah I know this is old news, but still I thought I should let you guys know what I've been in a corner crying about.

BTW, if you've read the post thus far, thank you. That means that it's one of those people who actually can spend 5 minutes reading. I don't write these just to express stuff... it's more for discussion and whatnot.

Yeah, I believe they filled the Blu-Ray disk to the brim, so a 360 version would be mega-slimmed down.

yeah... they said it was possible but it wouldn't be the same.

So i'll probably end up getting close with my friends who have PS3s (theres like one of them)

Do it. Make him buy it. :P
It's ridiculously fun. But if you read the updates, you WILL get sick of seeing "PLAY. CREATE. SHARE." everywhere. Trust me.

Yeah...

While we're still on the topic of creation and such, Spore's coming out on Xbox 360 next September.... so we have that to look forward to. OH and mirrors edge is coming out in like 2 weeks

I've heard nothing about Spore on the 360. I think that is a lie.

I did. I only found something saying it was possible, but no official word on it or dates.

Spore coming to Xbox 360, Wii and PS3 says game creator Will Wright (http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2006/08/02/spore-coming-to-xbox-360-wii-and-ps3-says-game-creator-will-wright.htm)

After EA was previously planning Spore to go from PC to handhelds (http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2006/03/01/spore-coming-to-handhelds.htm). In an interview this week Spore (http://www.spore.com/) creator Will Wright was quoted as saying: “We’re looking at all the platforms for Spore, because we’re thinking about Spore as a franchise, not as a PC game (http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2006/08/02/spore-coming-to-xbox-360-wii-and-ps3-says-game-creator-will-wright.htm#). We’re going to do the PC game first, but really, what we’re trying to launch is an entire franchise that will be all across platforms.”

We might even pull out parts of the game, so you might be playing part of the game on a handheld platform, you might be playing the entire game but maybe more avatar-based on a console. The consoles are getting kind of different now, I think there’s a really interesting distinction between the Wii and the Xbox 360 and PS3. Something like the Wii (http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2006/08/02/spore-coming-to-xbox-360-wii-and-ps3-says-game-creator-will-wright.htm#) offers a lot of interesting creative opportunities for the editors, with the controller.”
He closed off by saying: “That’s been one of the ongoing problems with consoles: they don’t have a mouse. The mouse is a very good random-access device for putting on the screen; a console controller really makes you want the game avatar-based, so you move on character — that’s why RTS games suck on consoles. With Spore, about half the game is avatar-based already — the creature game and the space game — and it would be pretty easy for us to make the intermediate levels avatar-based, so from the beginning, we thought about how we could move Spore to platforms including consoles.”

You do realize that's over 2 years old, right?

Well it is confirmed for the Wii, and there is a chance for the PS3 and 360

Resource Plz?

I watch all of the major video game sites, and I've heard nothing about this.

Edit: Just found this (http://wii.gamespy.com/wii/spore/)on GameSpy:

NOTE: This game has been unofficially confirmed as a project planned (or at least heavily, heavily, heavily considered across multiple platforms -- once the PC version is in full form, designer Will Wright will be looking into ways to bring the creation to other systems), but the publisher has not announced the game or committed to platforms. It may or may not be released on this system. Please check back for official details.
