Final Vote

Welcome one and all to the Final Vote for the 2010 March Forgery Challenge! In the spirit of March Madness, the challenge this month past was to create maps that played on the name and supported multi-team gameplay. This means that all of the maps submitted had to support at least four teams of two in some kind of gameplay.

The prizes are:
Your map featured in the next monthly Update here at Xforgery
Your map will get video'd.
You will receive the contest winner award (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/awards.php?do=viewaward&award_id=10)
The winners will receive a month of Supporter (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=17) status

We had eleven submissions this month, and after a lot of participation from the staff, were able to narrow it down to these top 5 maps:

Xenolith (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8002) by Hadokenchild

Now, grab 7 of your friends, download these maps (and the accompanying gametypes for multi-team), play them, and vote for your favorite one!

But wait! There's more!

Voting Rules:

You need to have been a member before the vote was started.
You need to have at least 2 posts on XF from before the vote was started.

This is a very small measure against people simply recruiting their friends to join XF only to vote for their map.

And remember, you can't see the results of the poll until you actually vote, so don't give away to everybody else what is going on. You can say who is in the lead and things like that, just don't say "WHA! THIS MAP IS BEHIND THE LEADER BY 2 VOTES! OMG OMG OMG VOTE FOR IT!". Failure to follow these simple rules will disqualify your vote (a.k.a we remove it).

That all said, voting will end on Thursday, April 15, at around the time when this was posted, and good luck to the top 5!

Yea I submitted something too, but technicalities (forged with someone not on the forum) prevented it from going anywhere. These are decent maps, although I do not like it that race maps count.

By submitting more than 1 map it causes people to split their votes.

I went with Xenolith, I don't think I need to explain why :P

And what is that suppost to mean, you're acting like race maps take no skill to forge. You guys on xforgery really give racetracks NO! credit at all.

Racing maps definitely do count bro. I'd just like to say, I know how most race-track forgers forge and it looks like a real pain in the ass. And also I have even more respect for racing maps over competitive because I like racing. Thats just like me going around and posting on forums that competitive maps shouldn't count. But in actuality racing maps are just as good as competitive and mini-game and aesthetic maps because they are their own genre, therefore they should be treated with just as much respect as the others. If you care to notice, most forums have their own map section for racing maps only further proving my point that race maps should count.

(I might sound a little silly because it's really late but you get my point)

That's dumb, if I'd known that I would have only submitted one map.

How did you think it would work? Everybody would vote for all of your maps, or they'd choose which one they liked the most (which is obviously based on personal taste, and thus differs)?

Race maps take just as much, if not MORE skill to forge. They also support battletracks, which is both a multiteam gametype and an XFOG. I'm pretty sure that they should count.

This looks like a close one guys!

you're acting like race maps take no skill to forge. You guys on xforgery really give racetracks NO! credit at all.

I cannot speak for everyone, I simply meant that I do not consider racing maps true multi-team play, it is Racing play- a different category all together. If you go onto matchmaking and play multi team, you do not start racing. I recognize race maps are hard to make, I certainly couldn't do it or have the patience.

I'd just like to say, I know how most race-track forgers forge and it looks like a real pain in the ass. Thats just like me going around and posting on forums that competitive maps shouldn't count. First, I also know racing maps are a pain to make as just about EVERYTHING is merged. I realize I was misunderstood, so let me elaborate- I do not cosider racing, ITS OWN CATEGORY, a multi-team game. I would happy if there was a RACING competition if there has not been one in a while, or ever, because there are clearly great racing maps in the community that deserve attention.

Race maps take just as much, if not MORE skill to forge. They also support battletracks, which is both a multiteam gametype and an XFOG. I'm pretty sure that they should count.

This is by far the best argument against my comment, and refutes it. My thing against battletracks is that it is based on spawn-killing honor rules, as the first time I played it I was booted for using the laser I was given.

No I voted for Xenolith because its cooler and more Rad

me too, but not because it was cooler or more rad, but because I consider it an excellent MULTI-TEAM map. Enough said? You do not have to agree with me, just understand where I was and still am coming from.
