The update is coming out right after my birthday, and on my brother's birthday. I told him I made them release the update on his birthday as a gift. He said I was a cheapskate.

I signed up for the preview program (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/11/13/nxe-preview-third-and-final-wave.aspx) and now at 4PM Central today, I get to go turn on my console and download it. Although, there were others that got into the program like a month ago. :(

The answer of the day being "no". They dropped all video sharing in this release, except for sharing Netflix with other people who have a Netflix account.

I downloaded the update this morning before I left for school, and while I'm disappointed that my themes are not the main attraction anymore, I guess the other features compensate for that? I'm currently trying out the Netflix thingy, but there's nothing good in my queue...:(

I had a problem where none of the names would show up on my friends list. Also sometimes it seems to take a long time for the people to appear.

For some reason it takes me around 5 tries to get connected to Xbox live now. Like turning on/off my 360 and such.

The only glitch that I had was after everyone in a Party joined the same game, everyone would randomly be kicked out of the Party Chat, so everyone would be in their own chat.

I think I am going to get one of the "Premium Themes (http://majornelson.com/archive/2008/11/20/a-look-at-premium-themes-in-nxe.aspx)" to spruce up the NXE. Probably the Halo 3 one, because it actually appeals to me.

I'll let you guys know if I like it or not.

Note: I'm only doing this because I came into 350 free points. Which isn't enough to buy anything else really.

I don't really like the the main background for the halo wars theme, the rushmore like faces above the mountain is kind of unnecessary.

I wish we could download the 'ninja blade' theme but I guess it was only released for the Japanese, it comes with ninja clothes for your avatar.

I couldn't agree more, which is the only reason that I'm questioning getting that one over Halo 3, because besides that, Halo Wars is more visually appealing overall.

I have the original Halo Wars theme, and I used that up untill i got the Far Cry scenery theme. It looks cool with the NXE because you can see the horizon and savanah in the background but I havent really looked into the premium themes yet.

I think the install to hard drive feature is really gay. I mean you still have to have the disc in. I thought it was going to be a way for me to steal games from my friends, but i guess not. why spend half your HD on that?

It's meant to improve the performance of the game, and to put less stress on certain parts of the hardware. It's a great development, but like PS3 games, you need the disk to confirm that you do in fact own the game or have possession of it.

It could also be a market influential feature seeing as you're already complaining about not having enough space. Guess what you'll have to do to get more space? Get a bigger HDD which in turn = more profit for Microsoft.

When I was magically kicked from a party (the others were brought to the main menu, too) Bungie had a nice "Download Halo 3 to your 360 and you'll be made fun of, matchmaking will be slower, and it'll take longer to load" message upon my screen.

I'm not testing this.

I downloaded the Halo Wars Theme.

The faces don't actually distract too much because they aren't the focus of the screen, but the vehicles look more 2D artsy then they look like the real 3D thing, which I personally don't like that much.
