In a rare event, the stars have aligned, the Mayans predicted it on their calendars, and even the ancient Egyptians painted a flying teal zero inside their temples (trust me, we have proof). These were all signs that on the second day of March in the year 2010, we would open the doors to many potential candidates only to have 1 new Event Director left standing.

Who are the event directors?
I'll give you the short and skinny: The Event Directors here at XForgery are part of this community's backbone and we are responsible for hosting and directing events. Most front page articles you see on XF are either from an Event Director or a Pencil Pusher. So as you can tell, this is a very important staff position that requires a lot of commitment and dedication on your behalf as our events and tournaments help keep this place from going stale.

WTF?!! Don't we already have over 9000 event directors?!!
At one point, we did have 4 event directors roaming these very boards. However in the blink of an eye, we are now short thanks to my retirement and Shell on his lame ass ambassador campaign. :p When you add those elements in, the only active event director we have right now is AceOfSpades (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=429), and it would be nice to have someone help him out once in a while (even though he's still in good hands). This is where you come in.
Previously, potential candidates were surveyed, stalked, and after a while were finally given the opportunity to become an event director if we felt they would be an excellent fit into the family. However times have changed and since the Pencil Pushers (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=21) and Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7) have recently done applications to bring in new people, we decided it would be awesome to completely steal their idea and do the same thing. However in our announcement thread we would add more pictures, colors, and youtube videos to make this position look more awesome and attractive.

That's right folks! We don't care if you have a different skin color, are a certain age, have a giant hairy mole on your right forearm, or a set of tits on your chest that makes every 14 year old on the interweb drool all over your pictures (or worse). We are simply looking for the person who we believe is best qualified for this job. So every application that is submitted to us will have a neutral, fair approach. Who knows, that crazy person who lives in a van down by the river might be the guy were looking for.

So how does one apply to become an event director?
It's simple really. Just PM either myself or Shellshock (for best results, PM both of us) stating you are interested in the position. Before you send a PM our way, ask yourself these questions first:
Why do you want to be an Event director?
Are you willing to commit and dedicate yourself in contributing to this site week in and week out?
Are you good under pressure?
Are you a responsible person with a neutral approach to everything?
If you want to PM the answer to these questions, feel free to do so. Just remember that this is not the official application and sending us these questions will not increase or lower your chances at all. These are simply questions that surprisingly not everyone can answer. If you can't answer these questions, this position may not be for you.
