Nothing disappoints me more than when you have been waiting for a game for over 4-5 years, and it turns out to be a pile of steamy shit. Nothing. I have been anticipating this game since before it was even announced, back when the 360 first came out.

It promised so much, yet everything about it is just stale, flat and boring. I mean it really is just....boring. Here is a rant I had in another forum about this game.

Alright. I have played about 7 player matches, and 1 ranked match.

*I got the Pred on Ruins in my ranked match, and went 27-10. I just jumped up top, got the plasma caster, and raped everyone. I had about 2 trophy kills, and 2 melee kills. The Pred needs to be fixed. And on the rare occasion that you do slightly miss an enemy, they are knocked down, and in less than half a second I am already locked on to him, and blast him away for good.

*The disc is unreal in hallways, as is the plasma caster too.

*The Preds melee should not be able to knock down enemies, unless the Alien can as well. Also, an Alien should be able to knock down a Pred, not just Marine.

Really, in 2 games playing as the Pred, I see LOADS of problems. He is just too overpowered. The Alien seems a bit balanced, though I have yet to play as him a lot so far. The marine is alright, but with more than 2 preds in a game, the Marine is going to get killed more than anyone. His smartgun isn't even all that good either. 40-50 rounds to take down a moving enemy, with only 100 rounds is worthless. Flame thrower is still the lamethrower.

This game needs an extreme makeover. The MP gets so old after a couple games. Every match is just stale, and nothing intense about it. Even when it was a close 1 or 2 point game, it didn't mean anything to me at all. Hell, even Survivor just feels.....LAME. All I did was hold down the trigger NON STOP and strafe back and forth. That isn't fun at all, and so much for the "intensity". I was so hyped earlier when I bought it, yet without even playing the campaign, and only 6 games in MP, I have already found myself wanting to put it aside and play something else. I can honestly say that my $60 was not well spent. After playing it, I am very disappointed, especially considering I had such high hopes for this game. The vids and pics looked so amazing, and it advertised something completely new and amazing. It feels like nothing more than a game made for the original Xbox. Imean even the graphics bothered me. I am not the one to trash graphics, but other than the nice environment, everything is atrocious. Player models are very, very bad. Maybe I am just very disappointed, but I can't find myself playing this past the end of Feb. Sad considering I have been waiting for an AvP game for over 5 years.

There is no balance. It is ALL Preds, with an occasional Alien player doing decent. Marines get skull fucked, and the Pred is just unstoppable. I think I will play the campaign, and then be done with the game. Hell, I might just go back to Mass Effect 2 for another couple months before I get sucked back into Halo 3...at least in ME2, I am in my 3rd playthrough, and still am finding new dialogue, new planets I have yet to explore, and a different experience EVERY SINGLE time I play. AvP has done nothing but disappoint the more I play. Sad day for you Aliens, Predator, and AvP fans like me...

I have heard, from a couple sources, that it is good, or bad. My friends who is a PS3 moron says it's totally fair. However, my friend who works at Gamestop has told me it's totally one sided if the Predator is any good.

For a party full of noobs, or people who don't really play games, the game is more than likely fun. For someone who plays a lot of video games, and in their first match they play go 27-10 with 1 shot kills on a map they do not know, the game is not fun. I like Infestation and that's it. Even in that, I find Aliens getting ass raped until there is that one guy (me) who gets sick of camping and decides to have a fun experience and run around. In an 18 man party in Infestation, 7-8 aliens still got ass raped until there was about 12-13 aliens...

I played the demo, it seemed ok, the flamethrower was absolute garbage. I used it on a non-moving enemy(During an execution or sumthing) and it didn't kill him, I thought it was lag/invincibility, it was sad. It was wayy unbalanced toward the pred, In ways I can barely describe.

Yes, the LAMEthrower is pure garbage.

I feel like I am attacking the game, but it has rubbed me the wrong way in almost every aspect....

I remember when you posted the trailer like half a year ago I think. idk but you were crazy excited for this. I didn't think it would turn out very good ever cause games based on movies rarely do.

It has so much potential. I think this game was just rushed. So many more features could have been added in. I guess I should try campaign before I trash the game, but multiplayer seems stale and boring. The game modes are basically Halo 3's with different names. I mean it honestly has so much potential to be one of the greatest games out there. It feels like a game made back in like 2002. Nothing even says next gen other than maybe the decent environments. It is just a major disappointment. I think the problem is they made the game for all gamers, rather than focus on hardcore fans of the Alien, Predator, and AvP franchises.

They made an AvP and AvP2 for the PC a long time ago, and those games were sick! This games feels like a clunkier, boring version of those games. Again, I'm talking about the multiplayer aspect. Maybe campaign will change my mind...

not so sure, while i was playing the Demo i was enjoying it. i used the alien... EVERYTIME

it was pretty fun climbing on the ceiling and stabbing the marines in the eyes, but i agree that it was never really that intense like i thought it would be. i was about to buy it yesterday, but i decided to go for Bioshock 2, then i didnt because my friend has it and i figured id' just borrow it.

the whole 'Predator destroys all" thing seems pretty valid though. whenever i played there would be a predator sitting at a high point with the Lazer Beemz and when i would go after him i would get blasted, or i would get disoriented and THEN blasted.

the main reason i enjoyed it was because of the stealth kill things.... those were fun.

Best one was when the alien stuck its tail through the marine anus and shoved it through his mouth.... Glorious.

After playing some of the Marine and Alien campaign, I have started to enjoy it. Maybe the multiplayer aspect just isn't for me, but the campaign seems to be really fun.

As for the demo Obi, it wasn't a big concern for me, and I enjoyed it. It was once I got the game and played on different, wide open maps, it is all Predator. His one shot kill plasma cannon is unstoppable. Hell, every one of his weapons is one hit kill. His spear is one hit kill, even if it is hard to aim. His disc is a boomerang that if it doesn't kill you when thrown at you, it will get you on the return. His cannon, enough said. His mines, basically one hit kills, sometimes they don't always kill you. His melee is the strongest, knocking anyone down (if anything the Alien should be able to do that because melee is ALL he has). Plus, the Pred cannot be knocked down. He has the best health, AND can go invisible...useless to Aliens near him, but with invisibility, and Alien vision mode, he can seek out anyone...he is clearly Rebellion's poster child.

Actually Boston, more people on average hate the campaign and enjoy the multiplayer.

The reason you may hate the multiplayer is because it is meant to be traditional instead of balanced.

And not to brag, but I hear the PC version is better.

I've actually heard that too from some gaming websites. Like I said, I guess the multiplayer aspect just isn't for me.

I gotta agree with ya.

My friends hyped this up to me for a while, but once i played the demo, immediately just un-installed. Doesn't feel like effort was put into multiplayer. I cant say the same for single player however, considering i have never played it.

I <3 this game, I pre-ordered it after playing the demo, got it yesterday and started playing it today, I've just completed the first mission in the Marine campaign and I <3 it so far, I love being hit by an alien only to turn around and see nothing then throw a flare and find the bastard...

What made me laugh was the IGN review says the predator was a bit under powered. I've only played the demo though. Also why is my shotgun like four hit kill? I think tey should have made almost all of the classes have close to instant kill and have the predator's ranged attacks have an extremely slow recharge.

Dude, it must be your aim... if your up close and you use the Shotgun it's an insta-kill, this has fucked me over when I've been an alien the past few games I've played.

Oh, well I guess it has no range like halo 3's (works well for halo though) I thought it was more like CoD 2's shotgun, but after using it I never used it again. my favorite gun is definately that one with the scope... awesome.

As a big fan of both franchises (Avp movies were celuloid shitcans) I was GEEKED to see this demo on marketplace. I dl'd it and quickly jumped into a quick match. Then I waited...and waited...and waited...and waited some more. Trying to connect to a game took forever and a day which was the most annoying thing to me while playing the demo. When I did actually get to play, I was really happy with how accurate to the source material the characters were. The sounds and weapons looked and felt authentic. That was until I saw how each registered damage. The predator's weapons are a bit too overpowered as Boston pointed out. I've been killed by a disc even when the Pred is not in sight because of the ridiculous amount of ricochet it has. The weapons need to be tweaked so that you need to be very accurate with your shots to get the one-hit kills. Tossing your disc down a hall and having it bounce all over the place and still insta-kill someone is total crap. I didn't mind the power of the cannon to insta-kill since it basically is the equivalent to a spartan laser. It not only has a charge time but has a targeting laser that, if your target sees it, will alert them and they can try to get out of they way. The problem with it is the splash damage is massive and makes it a very cheap weapon. I loved the alien but I felt they should be a bit faster. Aliens in the movies and books have the ability to overtake humans and predators alike when in a footrace. Hell even a fat/old Danny Glover was able to keep up (barely) with a predator. I did love the "hunter-esque" kills you can get from using an alien high up on a ceiling and dropping down catching your enemy unaware. I did have the most fun as a Marine tho. It really gives you those "oh shit" moments when running through darkened corridors with a flashlight and the signature pinging of your motion tracker. The smart gun is not only underpowered but low in ammo. I assume they treated this as they would a full blown sniper rifle but didn't up the damage to balance it. I really REALLY hate the melee system. As a human you are screwed if your hit by a non human cus you have no recovery time to defend yourself. The same is said if you are an alien getting pummeled by a predator.

So yeah Boston I agree with everything you've said. It was so promising but multiplayer is just unbalanced enough to break it.

Lol, the Predator defied gravity, what happened to nothing can ricochet for more than 30 feet? Or was that just a bullet? I love this game now that i've completed the Predator and Marine campaign.

So after finally getting to play single player, i must say, that alone merits people to give the game a look. It feels like they put more time in to single player than they did multiplayer, plus its a hell of a lot more fun.
