Alright, it's been two days since the last Poll of the Day and I'm sure you want to answer a simple question. Here it is:

You're in the grocery store with your parents (or just yourself) and shopping for groceries (of all things). You find the box of crackers you were going to buy, but look a little to the left and see yet another box of crackers, but this one is cheaper than the box you're holding. The box happens to be the store brand generic; do you buy it instead?

I personally don't care if something is generic or not. Most of the time, the quality is just as good and you save some money. My family buys mostly generic food stuffs such as cereal, crackers, soda, .... Only on a few occasions and with some items do we not buy the generic (like meats).

So, do you buy generic or name brand? Remember, the question only covers food stuffs.

There are some things that my family has always bought from a brand name, but other things we do not care as much. For example, my father only likes to eat Peter Pan peanut butter, but we buy off-brand cereal all of the time.

I don't remember the last generic food/drink I ate/drank.

Doritos are not Doritos if they are not Doritos. simple as that.

cereal can be generic though, well... does Market Basket count as a name brand?

I buy generic food for everything that I normally eat, provided that it is available at the moment. At a point in your life you realize that food is a huge money waster and that getting name brand products is really a total waste. That said though, some generic brand product is very good. For example, Safeway's grape soda.

It's whatever I feel like eating. I like the generic Vanilla ice cream from Safeway more than a brand name so I get that.
