The Game Finder
What Is The Game Finder?
The Game Finder is a place to advertise your Gamedays/Play Testing Sessions/etc.
Game Times can be planned up to 2 Weeks in Advance, because 14 days after they are created, threads are automatically deleted from this forum.
How Do I Use It?
It's simple, you just post a thread in the forum, using the simple, provided template.PrefixesAll Threads Must Have A Prefix.
There are several prefixes to choose from, depending upon the type of game you want to play.
Map Testing
This is used when you have a map that you would like other people to come help you test.
Customs
Use this if you just want to get together and play anything, you can provide more information in the Title and Post.
Pass The Leader
Pass The Leader is similar to Customs except you are specifically stating that other people will get a chance to choose the map/gametype. Here, nobody is "in charge", you're just getting together to play.
Matchmaking
Pretty obvious. If you want to play some Matchmaking Online with some fellow XFers, this is the Prefix to use.
Campaign
Again, obvious. You want to play some Co-op Campaign in the game of your choice.
Forging
Use this if you are looking to do some cooperative forging and need a partner(s) to help you out.
TitleAlong with the Prefix, the Title of your game is what will tell be the basic idea of what you want to do and when you want to do it.
The Title should always follow this format:Game - Date/Time - Description
For instance, if I wanted to play Firefight on December 2nd at 3:00pm Central, I would put something like this:ODST - Dec 2nd 3pm CST - Null's Firefight Day!
If you don't have a specific Date or Time in mind and are taking suggestions, simply put in a ? for that area and you can explain more in your post.
Post TemplateThe Post is where people will get the most information about your game and where they will gain their interest, so be sure to be thorough.
You Post Must Use The Following Template:
Game: [Fill In Game Name]
Date: [Fill In Game Date]
Time: [Fill In Game Time]
Description: [Want to go wild explaining your gameday? Do that here!]
For those that want the BBCode for that, here it is:
Game:
Date:
Time:
Description:
Again, the Game, Date and Time follow the same rules as in the Title, but you can go more in depth here, especially if you have an open ended date/time.
The description is left wide open for whatever you want to put there. Feel free to list Gametypes, Maps, Missions, Achievements, etc. to give people a better feel for what you will be playing.
