Welcome to the second installment of Halo Hide & Seek! This isn't about beating a level, defeating the most enemies, playing on a particular difficulty or even getting the highest score. Instead, this event is all about wits and determination. Can you use the visual clues to find the right game, the right location and then, can you make it there?
What Exactly Is Halo Hide & Seek?
It's exactly what it sounds like. I hide. You seek. But it's a little more complicated than that.
Just like the game you played when you were younger, but with a much broader scale and difficulty.
The playing field is the entire Halo 3 Universe, which includes any map or level from Halo 3, Halo 3 Multiplayer or Halo 3: ODST.
The only hint you get about where to start looking are the visual clues you can get out of the supplied image and whichever hint I "might" give you.
Sounds Difficult. How Hard Will It Actually Be?
That depends upon how difficult you want to make it. Every installment of the contest will provide four different difficulties in which you can compete.
Easy: This one is simple. Simply figure out the game, level and find the right spot. Most likely, you can just walk there without much trouble.
Normal: This difficulty requires you to do a little more jumping around. Grenade jumps are rare but possible.
Heroic: A little more difficult, you won't be able to just walk there, you'll have to figure out the right path and then possibly pull off an interesting jump or two to make it, but definitely not impossible.
Legendary: The hardest of the bunch. These are places that you aren't meant to go. Places that Bungie never intended for any Spartan or ODST to roam. Expect some interesting battles, jumps, use of equipment and maybe a glitch or two.
How Do I Participate?
First of all, make sure that you have your Gamertag linked to your Bungie.net profile (like so (http://www.bungie.net/stats/halo3/rankhistory.aspx?player=The%20Cheat902)), because you'll need to track your games and get screenshots. Also, many of the hiding places may require that you have Halo 3: ODST, either for the Campaign & Firefight or for the Mythic II maps; although, there will also be occassions where we'll pull things from regular old Halo 3, so those of you without ODST won't be lost in the mix.
You do not need to register prior to submitting. In order to participate you need to get a screenshot of yourself in the same location as the original image and send that, along with a link to the game in which you took the screenshot in a PM to myself or an Event Director.
This should go without saying, but you need to be a member of XForgery in order to participate; which should be obvious since you have to PM your solution.
This first round starts today, January 1st, and ends next Friday on January 8th at 11:59:59pm Central. At that time, you must have your submissions PMed, game time does not count.
Why Should I Participate?
I could talk about the possibilities of fun and exploration, but why would I do that? When the answer you really want is PRIZES!
Each difficulty can have up to three winners, with higher difficulties, as well as submitting your solution the quickest, netting higher amounts of points. That's a total of up to 12 Winners Every Round. For instance, in the Easy difficulty, the first person to submit a correct solution will receive 5 Points, while the second person will only receive 2 Points.

I know that some of you are thinking that these values aren't very high, but small numbers add up fast, and there will be more of these in the future.
I Think I Can Cheat The System
Don't worry, I've taken every precaution to make sure you cannot do that. Every game where screenshots are captured is played offline, so there is no record on Bungie.net. Screenshots are never uploaded automatically to Bungie.net, and therefore the names don't represent anything about the location and will never appear in my recent screenshots for reference.
The only way to find these places is to actually find them.
Lets Do This Already!
Lets just get to it. Here they are......

Hint: If you haven't noticed, they are all within the Halo 3 campaign this round. Time to dust off that Halo 3 disk and start exploring the first 3 levels.
Remember, this round starts today, January 1st, and ends on January 8th at 11:59:59pm Central. That means you have just barely over a week to investigate and explore to find these spots; but remember, the earlier you submit, the more likely you are to win some Points!
Good luck to everybody! Get out there and explore the world of Halo!

FAQs
Can I find these with friends?
Yes, you may find the Easy and Normal Difficulties with friends, but unless otherwise stated, the Heroic and Legendary difficulties needs to be found with only one person in the game.
Will points for winning be shared if more than one person is involved?
The team can choose to split the points however they wish. Which would be X points/person or all points going to one person. I will accept the decision on the points from the person who first submits the solution.
Can you win in more than one difficulty?
Yes and no.
Yes, you may possibly win in every difficulty, depending upon the number of submissions. You will automatically earn the points for the highest submitted difficulty. But to spread the wealth, others will be given a chance to earn the top places for the other locations.
Do I really have to do this on Legendary?
The difficulties listed are only for the difficulty of getting to the location, you may play Halo itself on whatever difficulty you wish.
What do I need to submit?
A link to a screenshot of you in the correct location as well as a link to the game it was taken in.
If the screenshot is on Bungie.net, there is often a link to the game already there, and that is sufficient.
