So, I've been noticing lately that fewer maps have been posted. Now, I'm not sure what to attribute this to, but some people I have talked to say that they just don't know what to forge or can never finish their maps because of lack of interest.
So, I'm creating this thread to hopefully provoke more thought & dedication to forging ideas and therefore hopefully the posting of more maps.
Use this thread to share:
Ideas you have had, but never implemented.
Maps you never finished, and never will.
Things you never released because you think it could have been done better.
Or ask for help in developing:
Ideas for maps/games
New map structures
Or anything else you can think of that is related.
I hope this helps spark some ideas and gets your creativity rolling once again.

Well for one my MLG Maelstrom V1.3 I never put it in because it was my first map i tried and learned how to merge and it had a ton of problems, also my 4 way tunnel.

Good idea. Since I never get to play Xbox anymore, let alone Halo, let alone Forge, I'm going to make an effort to put all my half finished maps up here. If anybody is interested in finishing them, or adapting them, go for it.
My complete maps will stay mine, but anything I put in this thread is free for anyone to take ownership of.

Most of my concepts that I've done in the past were killed and forgotten, I will, however, be forging a lot more and using Google Sketchup to get a nice simple plan on the computer.

I can post some of my older maps but most of them have already been on forgehub, once I get my internet connect back I have at least 4 new maps I can post. Including that forge glitch one... But I have to mention basically all of my maps are mini games...

We never said that was a bad thing, I'm not one to build only competitive maps myself and am working on an almost strictly infection map, although it'd probably be easily adapted for team slayer and such. I've already received a comment saying that the maps looks like it would work better for team doubles with a couple minor tweaks.

Except with the whole camping room and all. ;)

I'd love to have this. Especially considering my Halo disc is temporarily broken.
Also, GET 6000th post.:D

I have one map that didn't really work. I have a few ideas, but if they don't work, I will post it here.

and I still blame Kenny for that. It was designed to be a tunnel, then I asked him and Bunny if it'd work better as a room, Kenny said it would and it was horrible.

I was thinking about making a map similar to that old 'board game' crossfire. Basically it would be a huge soccer field like map except the players would be above the ground with brute shots in each side in an enclosed area but they could still shoot the 3 soccer balls in the middle, try to push them to the other side of the field. I even have an idea about how to setup the scoring system, so it's honor rule free.

I loved Crossfire!
Busts into song.
"You'll Get Caught Up In The...... CROSSFIRE! CROSSFIRE! CROOOOOSSSSFIRRRRREEE!"
(And I wrote that before even watching the video ;))
I'd help you out with this if you want to give it a go.

I've had sooooo many ideas in the past but when I don't get them finished for ages it really brings me down but anyway I thought I'd share them with the community.
NumeroUno:Has anybody played Splinter Cell: Double Agent? I thought it would be a great idea if I could make a map based on the prison level in the story mode. There could be a load of vents, sort of like In The Shadows, and there could be a switch that opened up all the other cells to let their teammates out. The only thing that is missing in this idea is a goal for the cops( protect VIP, Head cop?)
NumeroDos:I had an idea for a new way to use the Juggernaut gametype. After testing the Juggernaut Go To points, I found out that if you have a Go To point over the whole map and if you set the go to point to change every 30 seconds or how ever long you want it to be, the juggernaut will recieve points in 30 second intervals for howevr long the juggernaut is alive. I thought of making like an escaped animal map or a vamipire map with this idea. The vampire could have 3x overshields, no shield recharge and 50% vampirism and at the start by whatever means(fusion coil, falling object) they could lose health so they had about one set of shields left. They would then have to gain health and get points at the same time, but at the same time being careful to not to take a lot of people at one time. It could be an icey village/town on Avalanche.
These are my ideas that I have had, feel free to take one or both of them.

Is this an evolved version of your honor rule free version of cops and robbers? There would need to be something to keep the cops from sitting outside the jail, waiting for it to be opened, then wiping out all the prisoner.
Also instead of the 'head cop' you could just make vip on the prisoners side and create a switch that ensures he is in one of the cells. When they are released, they make their way to several capture points on their way out of the jail.

This is an interesting idea but it is really just juggernaut with different scoring system. Maybe if you had a 'hot potato' like game where being the juggernaut would give you -10 every 10 seconds, then the objective of the juggernaut would be to pass of the ownership to the next person before the time was up. Highest score wins after a set amount of time.
I would actually be interested in making this, if anyone else is on board.

Didn't you do that already?

You might be thinking of his Hot Box map and gametype, where you have to keep dropping the oddball because it is on automatic pickup and the person with the oddball is the only person who can die by fusion coils that drop every minute.
Wow that was a long sentence, if only I knew how to use commas. lol

I have seen that game, but that is not what I was talking about.

Nope, I had a juggernaut game where only the Juggernaut has low gravity and everyone has hammers, basically he tries to get knocked into the air to reach a capture point over head. And as Trio mentioned the Hot potato game with oddball.
Also, Trio and I already put together the idea of using the area effect juggernaut game type. Basically we turned it into a 'tag' style game. juggernaut is randomly selected at the beginning, he has normal radar and a hammer. Everyone else is poor camo, no shields, no radar. The object is to avoid and hide from the juggernaut, if he kills you, you spawn as the new juggernaut. Every 10 seconds you're the juggernaut, you lose 1 point. Whom ever has the highest score after 6 mins wins.
The gametype is actually quite fun, and on the plus side it only takes about 2 seconds to setup any map to play it. All you need to do is get rid of all of the juggernaut 'go to points', then place two of them in the very center(make sure they're engulf the entire map). I urge everyone to start doing this with their smaller compeitive maps, it'd be great for gamedays and no one ever really plays the escort style juggernaut gametype anyway.

I remember playing a game where the person with the oddball gets -1 point for every second with the oddball, but they get 10 points for every kill with the oddball. It was not a map - only a gametype, but it was probably someone else.
