I thought it was amazing, especially the music. Purely epic. The "Spartans never die soldier, they only go MIA" part gave me chills. Though, yes I was disappointed because I didn't get to know anything!!!!

As for GOTY. That was bullshit. I think PS3 fan were like "We HAVE to vote our exclusive GOTY. Then 360 fans actually voted for the game that had a long lasting appeal.

Don't get me wrong Uncharted 2 has an awesome single player but that multiplayer is complete crap. Honestly the climbing system is ridiculous. If you're moving through a map you have to look everywhere cause people can climb anywhere and when you're looking up for people someone always walks around in front of you and shoots you. And if you don't look up someone gets you from above. It was just one of those games where they added multiplayer to make it more appealing but the multiplayer wasn't very good. CoD: MW2 on the other hand has great single player, great multiplayer, and amazingly fun Spec Ops. But really MW2 sales beat out Uncharted by like billions of dollars probably so what does GOTY matter? GOTY doesn't put food on the table and I think everyone knows which game was the real victor.

I'm also trying to put my finger on what the trailers music reminds me of. I think it is a movie but it sounds like a very familiar sorta tune. I love all the Halo soundtracks and I loved how ODST was different from the others. This one sounds like it will have a very original sound to it as well.

I just watched this trailer again and released that those leaked pictures definitely must be legit cause the armor in the trailer looks like the armor on the Spartan in that one picture. Hopefully Bungie gets us a gameplay video for Christmas :)

Uncharted 2 > MW2. Period. Sorry MNMs.
It has the most amazing, deep, twisty, and interesting plot, extremely polished gameplay, extraordinary dialogue, and beautiful graphics.
When it comes to multiplayer, everything is opinionated, but I think it's incredible. It's very balanced, and the verticallity is what actually keeps the game fresh and different imo.

But back on topic.. copyrighted lol

@Woozy-Yes Uncharted has an amazing single player campaign from what I played but I'm sure CoD has many more people that will keep playing it than Uncharted 2's multiplayer. I really wasn't a fan of that multiplayer at all. I found that I kept getting frustrated with it at my friends house but like you said it is opinionated.

I would also love to hear if they have imporved Forge. I would love to hear LOTS of stuff. Whether Firefight runs on the multiplayer engine instead of the campaign engine, and whether you can edit the settings in Firefight? How many people can be in each multiplayer game??

So many questions and so much time to wait.

Oh my god. I did my research guys. This is how it goes. I don't know whether Reach had started being attacked yet, but an army of 300 Spartan IIIs attacked Pegasi Delta, a Covenant supply base. One 2 survived. This happened BEFORE Reach fell, not necessarily before the assault began though. Then after Reach falls Onyx happens. You guys need to realize that events can slip in between other events.

EDIT: Just wiki'd, Tom and Lucy are never at Reach or Onyx at all. Neither were S-III's. Turns out all of the S-III's, at the time of Reach, were stationed at Onyx, and the whole even there ended up killing them off, except for that team that stayed with Fred.

I got your back Coyote... I been making this point over on FH as well. The only factor is I think it is Tom and not Lucy. More on it later.

How can it be a SIII?
-Simply put SIII Beta company died out with operation Pegaus. ONLY 2 members made it out of the operation.
1. Mircosoft annoucment points to SIII's being in this game.
2. THE trailer brings up the conflict ... Spartans never die.
3. WE know only 2 people made it out alive from Pegaus

Thus Tom or Lucy are the main character. I would wonder if bungie plans on not telling us any information on the person gender. O.o ... Further more if you toss out the idea of SPI armor, Tom or Lucy are at least 20 in the Battle of reach which happens before the conflicts on Onyx as well Halo CE.

Interesting facts I plucked out of the trailer;
Nova team, Hawks, Bionic arms, Spartan with EVA helment is packing Grenade Shells on his chest, PISTOL as a side arm, BR LOoks sexy, possible maccannon round hitting a Capital ship 2:00-2:05, Marines are flying the hawks, Marines have optical eye piece, and Last there will be bad ass Elites in this game. In which those elites will at least cut up someone with the blood on the floor!...

"THEY WILL FUCK YOU UP... AND YOU AND YOU!... So you better listen up... if you want your raggy ass to make it through this alive. "

The reason why I want Tom over Lucy is the fact that Tom is allowed to say something as appose to Lucy. Even in the point that Masterchief has a few lines because they were needed. Tom gives the writers something to fall back on. We shall see... but it is also fitting to wonder if it is a man or a woman under that Armor. Bungie has me beat again...

Okay, to end our long discussion:


If you indeed play as the Lieutenant shown in the trailer, you will NOT play as a Spartan-III. Noble Team is all Spartan-II, with their own special armors. Spartan-IIIs have SPI suits. The custom armor that Noble Team wears doesn't even look like an SPI suit.
There are marines. They probably return with the brown armor seen in Halo: Combat Evolved, along with the optical eye piece.
The flying vehicles in the trailer are not Sparrowhawks or Hornets. They are unofficially called Tillrotors.

First off, Jorge just says "Didn't think anyone survived Pegasi, sir," however, he does not specifically state which Pegasi planet it is. The battle could've occured on any of those worlds, and a Spartan-III can not automatically change to a Spartan-II.

My theory:

Now, be forewarned, I have read several topics on b.net and I've read all the Halo books (I've been hearing a lot that the books aren't canon. Can someone link me to someone from Bungie who says this?). I've seen many people's opinions, and I will go from what I believe happened to this "Spartan". (This is based on the lieutenant, who is, I believe, to be the main character.)

As we see from the beginning of the video, this Spartan puts on a Mjolnir Helmet. I will be using this later in this topic, so please, keep that in mind. So, from here the Spartan is driven to what I will refer to as Base Camp. Once he arrives at Base Camp, he enters the War Room. He is stopped by Kat, and it is also at this point that we notice that the main character's armor is gray. That's odd, but we'll continue. Kat stops him, and calls to the commander. The commander and another Spartan look over at our main character.

At this point, the Spartan on the right says something. "Didn't think anyone survived Pegasi, sir." That's something odd to say, right? Considering that ONI tried to cover up the Spartan III's and they were the ones at Pegasi... how does this guy know about that?

I'm going to skip ahead at this point. Near the end of this World Premiere, the commander said he's read the lieutenant's file, even the stuff ONI didn't want him to read. So, if this is true, perhaps the commander had learned about Pegasi, reading through ONI's files. Now you're thinking, "But why did that guy say that if the commander knew he survived?"

The commander didn't know. ONI could have possibly hidden the file on the lieutenant. Remember that, because it'll be coming back in a little bit. So, the commander learned about Pegasi and told his troops about it. That, b.net-goers, is how they learned about it.

Now, you may be asking, "So what about the main character?" Well, I personally believe that this character was a Spartan III. Now, from here, I'm going to branch off into two different possibilities.

1. This Spartan III was at Pegasi. Once the explosion went off, he was flung a distance away, with his vital sign reader broken. At this point, he stalked away from his failed mission, knowing his comrades had died. Now, ONI saw the potential in this Spartan, and hid his failure from the rest of the military. Considering he abandoned Tom and Lucy, they've decided to relocate him. Where else but Reach, right? As he arrives at Reach, he puts on his new Spartan II helmet. Also, if he was a Spartan II, he'd already be at Reach, so why would they say, "You picked a helluva day to join up"?

2. Gray Team was also sent into the Pegasi mission, but secretly. Since their more lone wolf-type, they had split up. The rest of this Spartan's team was killed off in the explosion, and just as above, he stalked away. (Follow the rest of the above story, except now there would be a reason for his armor to be gray.)

Yeah... That's just a little speculation by me. Opinions?

Well, even if there are Spartan-IIIs in Halo: Reach, at least we'll be able to see the MA5K Carbine in action. However, clearly these characters are Spartan-IIs, stated by Bungie, as you play as the Lieutenant, a member of Noble Team, which is completely Spartan-II. This is even further justified by the appearance of a Hellspartan (the Unidentified Grenadier, known to many as "Ghost"), which is one of the two soldiers involved in an "Unknown Spartan-II Project."
