Okay, so unlike the other people who're like "OMFG MW2," I decided to get L4D2 for PC, and god, I am loving it more than MW2. (Yes, before you say anything, I have played MW2 quite a few times)
The new SI (Special Infected) brings out more strategy and challenge to the game, new weapons, etc; Versus is even more amazing. Anyone else got this game?

How much did you get it for?

I downloaded it off Steam, so I got it for $49.99, retail price is about $59.99.

That's for the 360 version ;) PC games at retail still are $50 each.. not MW2 though :/
Anyway, funny thing is that many websites are selling it for $30 at this very moment and some retailers will be during Black Friday... I know I'm going to get it around Christmas for PC. Add my Steam (NewbAmoeba).

Eh? Funny, I went to the store and the PC version sold at $54.99.
Damn, if I knew that, I would've bought it somewhere else. Anyways, I'll add you. (JestMx)

I played the L4D2 Demo and wasn't impressed, at all.
The game just didn't have the same sense of urgency and desperation as the first one. It felt almost light hearted.
I just walked through the level, shooting at will at oncoming zombies. I never felt overwhelmed and frantic, which is what gave the first game it's appeal. I even walked right up to the Witch, shot her and ran away while shooting at her and she never touched me. Witches used to be dangerous and frightening, now they're a joke. Same with the Tank. Just felt way too easy to defeat, didn't even get near me.
I loved L4D, and played it a lot because of the suspense and thrill of surviving. There was no survival involved here. It was more of a zombie shooting range.

in addition to lacking the thrill that null was talking about, the music in this one sucks compared the the first. I thought from the moment i heard that Valve was making a second L4D, and would be releasing it in november of 09, it wasnt going to be as good as i wanted it to be. Over at a friends house i played what he said was the best level, and it really felt rushed.

I played the demo and was dissapointed. Didn't play the 1st 1, but I might rent it. It reminded me of past generation games because the controls sucked, atleast imo. The graphics were sub-par and it didn't feel like a survival game.

Notice that, funnily enough, all the 360 gamers are disappointed... however; the ones that have played the PC version(Arsonist and I) both seem to enjoy it. Is there a huge difference between the PC and 360 version? Definitely. Is it enough to make the difference of a purchase? Absolutely. I totally regret buying L4D for the 360, but back then I didn't have much of an option as I didn't really have a computer.

I don't. I really enjoyed L4D on the 360, I hate L4D2.

The point was that it was my opinion... but the fact of the matter stands. I enjoyed L4D on the 360, but in comparison to the PC? There is a massive gap. Until one plays both and judges from PC to 360, one can't clearly see the difference.

I only hope that the PC version is as good as you guys say it is, because then it almost halfway makes up for the fact that the 360 version completely blows.
Guess I'll have to wait for Dead Rising 2 to get my zombie killing fix.....

Better graphics
Higher framerates (depends, but counts for me at least)
Cleaner interfaces
A more mature community
Mods
Free DLC (Crash Course for 360 wasn't)
Keyboard and Mouse (win anybody?)
Clearer gameplay
Yeah... that's basically what I get out of it.

But none of that was an issue for me, I just thought that the gameplay itself sucked. Not sure if it was the level design or if it is the new "Director" AI that sucks, but something just made the game not challenging anymore. It doesn't feel like survival, it feels like zombies coming at you that you get to shoot.

Funny you should say that, some of my friends and I blasted through the demo on Expert without even trying. Attempting a second, third, fourth time and still continuing we simply couldn't do it, even if we were trying. A bit strange indeed, but I definitely say you give it a shot.

I agree with Null I loved the first L4D but this one seems decent at best. I have only played the demo, but it just did not seem all that fun to me. It felt like they basically threw out another boss zombie or two, and more of the same weapons...but hey, like aMoeba said, maybe the console version sucks...

Wow, I'm surprised how many of you don't like it.
I loved the demo (360). I'd defiantly get L4D2 if I had other people who would get it, but all my friends are lame and play MW2 all day.

L4D on the pc excels just because of the editor. Some of the custom campaigns i have played on the pc are just ridiculous. But i think for what the xbox 360 can handle, how L4D and L4D2 now are just fine. Both are fun.
