Ok, I got the image thing to work, but now when i'm finished and press submit, it gives me a Database Error message.

what does the database error say? it may be on your end because i'm pretty sure new maps have been created today.

Speshul Ninja

It just says The Xforgery Database has encountered a problem.

Please try the following:
Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
Open the www.xforgery.com home page, then try to open another page.
Click the Back button to try another link.

The www.xforgery.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

I need all of the information here guys, you just can't tell me you got an error.

Which forum were you submitting to?
Which fields did you fill in?

Usually if there is a DB error, it gives some DB programming text. If not, then it is yet another clue to where the issue is.

I need this information especially because I was able to submit with all forms just fine.

I just tried a test in the Legendary Map Forum to see if it counted quoted text yet, but now it won't accept my img tags:

I paste some image addresses with the img tag (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg94/CostlyAxis/ScreenShot034-1.jpg), but I still get an error (http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg94/CostlyAxis/ScreenShot035-1.jpg).

Okay, I know the issue with the image tags, and I'll fix that right now.

Edit: The image issue should be fixed now.

Anybody have screenshots of the other issue?

Speshul Ninja

my problem was with posting a map

my problem was with posting a map
And that is what Null was fixing, except that the person that he could fix the issue with had provided screenshots to give him an exact place to go and fix it.

Maybe, giving more information and/or screenshots would result in faster fixes. We've been able to post maps on the new templates, we've addressed the issue with embedding images, but we don't know exactly what's going on when you can't submit a map.

I just tried a test in the Legendary Map Forum to see if it counted quoted text yet, but now it won't accept my img tags:
Yes, I changed the option to now allow quotes to count in the limit.

Yes, I changed the option to now allow quotes to count in the limit.
Thanks. That's what I was really trying to test, but as you said, the test was successful. :D

Okay, I'll come on later and try to post it if it's fixed.

Still not working. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Yes you are. You aren't taking screenshots when it is happening, so I know what is going wrong.

Speshul Ninja

Okay, sorry. I try to submit a heroic dlc foundry map and when I fill out all the information and put a screenshot in, it gives me this message:

Database error
The XForgery database has encountered a problem.

When you get this error again, take a screenshot of it. We've already seen you copy/paste the error message, but that doesn't mean anything to us.

If you're using a Windows computer (XP, Vista, etc...) the hit CTRL+PrtScn or Control+Print Screen, open up Paint and then in the toolbar at the top go to Edit>Paste. Save this image and then upload it to imageshack, photobucket, or whatever other image host.

You can also download HyperSnap (http://www.hyperionics.com/hsdx/index.asp) to grab a screenshot of what's happening.

It would be to everyone's benefit if you took a screenshot BEFORE and AFTER you submit the map, so we might be able to figure out what you might've done wrong.

*If you continue to just copy/paste the error message, we'll lock the thread since you're not coorporating with us to allow us to fix this error.

Thomas, I was working with him a little bit outside of this thread (via PM).

Speshul Ninja, I took all of what you sent me and tried to submit it and everything went just fine. Therefore, I really have no idea what could be going wrong. So, like Thomas said, we need those screenshots.

Another thing that could really help is when you get that error message, right-click the page and do a View Source. Copy the entire Source Code here, it should contain more information.

What browser do you use? I don't really see what difference that would make, but you never know until you try. Have you tried submitting other maps?

here is a screenshot of the screen:

I am using Internet Explorer. Like most people

Would you mind doing that again and using the Right-Click->"View Source" option and posting the whole file in [html] tags here?

Ja Red is Ninja
09-11-2008, 08:13 PM
I don't know how to do that. this is what I saw when I tried submitting a map. It might be the form we have to fill out...

09-11-2008, 08:25 PM
Yeah, when you get that error, right click in the page somewhere and there will be an option "View Source". That should open up notepad or something. Copy the entire text from notepad and past it like this:

(Text goes here)

hey null, remember when i first joined the site and got that exact same database error posting gecko?

well it was due to the picture limit..
maybe this could help?
like a limit got reset when we switched everything over the Xforgery?

dunno if it helps but with the same exact database error, this seems possible to me!

Ja Red is Ninja
09-11-2008, 09:45 PM
wait a sec. what? that is really wierd. if that is the problem, then you should try fixing it.

Null Parameter
09-11-2008, 10:07 PM
That is not the case. Please, if you can reproduce it, just do so and do like I said, copy the Source of the Error page here.

No more theories until after that is done. If I don't get this, then I can't fix it and therefore you can't post maps.

Hey well I submitted one today (a beautiful map BTW) and it worked.

So it may just be a problem on your end.

Null Parameter

I think I fixed the issue (while also giving me a tool to solve problems easier later on).

Anybody care to confirm that it is good to go?

Null i could, however how?
shall i just post a map.. or what variables need to occur to possibly create this problem again?

Null Parameter

That's the problem, I don't know, and I need someone who has hit it before to try to make sure it is gone. Speshul Ninja has been the only one to reproduce it. So, Speshul Ninja, whenever you get online, give it a try.

Ok, no more database error, but I'm exceeding the maximum number of tags now, last time by 9, now by 12. What does that mean?

Null Parameter

I disabled the limit, so you shouldn't be hitting anything anymore. I'll try changing it again. Give it a try now.
