Commenting on maps
With an extremely high income of new members, it has come to our attention that many have forgotten to read the rules which are set to provide guidelines for commenting on maps. Null Parameter had put it clearly:
Rules about Map Comments
Your post must:
Make sense
Be at least a couple non-fragmented sentences long
Stay on topic
*Not judge the map just by the pictures provided
*Not rate it without obvious knowledge that you have played on it at least once.
Not use any font sizes higher then 4
*This includes making comments like "needs more interlocking"
You can find all the rules about maps here (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428).
XForgery Game Nights
Recently a game night against one of our affiliate sites, Monitor Built, occurred. Although our attempts were valiant, you will have to see the full thread to get in on all the carnage. The results can be found here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5479).
Although that night has come and gone, a new one seems to be sizzling on the horizon. Keep your eyes peeled for our next game night. Who is the opponent this time, you ask? Well, let's just say it will puzzle you until you figure out.
New and updated forums!
Even though it took over a year to get to it, the Game Finder forum is officially open for business. The Game Finder forum is a forum where you can post your map testing sessions, or get some custom games started with your fellow acquaintances here at XForgery. Be sure to read the rules before you post anything, though, as getting in trouble should not be part of your mission. The Game Finder forum is a subforum of Video Games Discussion. The actual forum is located here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=60), but we suggest you read the rules first, which is located here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=690).
Not only has the Game Finder forum been opened to use, but a brand spankin' new forum was created recently just for the purpose of Events. So, if you're bored, or need something to do, stop on by the Events forum and see what's up and about with XForgery and what we're all doing. Occasionally an event will have Microsoft Points as a reward, so keep your eyes peeled for any sweet incentives. Do not fret though, all News and Updates will still be posted here, and all the previous Event threads have been allocated to that forum. You can find the Events forum here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=99).
Search category
This is a pretty small thing updated, but the Conventional map category has now been included in the map search engine, which can be found here (http://xforgery.com/forum/mapsearch.php).
XForgery Site Update banners
As you may have noticed, this site update has a banner at the top which is not the usual text. That banner, my friends, was made by Gunnergrunt. Now you may all be asking if you can make a banner for the Site Update, well I must respond yes, you can! Its quite simple. Go make your banner, with a 650px width maximum and a good height, make it awesome, and then post it in this thread (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5287).
Forgery Challenges
Currently our October Forgery Challenge voting is underway, so go take part in that and let's see who wins! As a general reminder, the poll results are not visible at first glance for good reason. Do not post the current poll results in the thread, because we want people's votes to be based on what they want rather than be swayed by other's votes. Go here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5677) to vote for your favorite maps!
