XForgery Update - October 17th
A monthsful of news
This past month much has been going on here around and about XForgery. I recommend you take a read through this entire site update and get up to date on things here. Without further ado, brace yourselves for this massive update...
New Rules (Read this!)
The following rule is one that has gone through much heated argument. If you read anything of this entire update, it should be this.
When you go to another forum, you represent XForgery, with what you put in your signature, avatar, or what you type in posts or threads there. You are an ambassador of XForgery, and you represent the community that we are with your behavior. You may not think that you reflect so greatly on XForgery - but you really do. If you cause trouble on a different website, for example Forge Hub, you show them what XForgery may be like. Sure, one could say that one man does not represent our entire community, but it does to them. By one man sparking trouble at a different forum, it shows the same attitude for all of us. We do not want to hold the image of disorder and disdain in our posts, whatever website they may be at.
Because one man can single handedly represent our entire community with one stupid post, we have to take action against these type of people. From this point on, trolling on a different forum and representing XForgery in some way will net you a great punishment here. Not only will you be punished there for causing trouble or possible advertising, do not rely on XForgery to be your safe haven to return to. If you have nothing good to post on a different forum, don't post it.
XForgery has a great community. All you have to do is take a look around to find that out. Most of us here aren’t perfect and we make mistakes from time to time; however, a mistake like this can be prevented and hopefully after reading this you’ll think twice before trolling another website. Consider this your only warning.
Forgery Challenges (Congratulatory responses)
The September Forgery Challenge for infection was concluded as of last week, and the results are in. Project Kappa (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4972), an infection map by Dow (http://xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=484), took the lead in the polls and obtained the glory of the win. Here's the voting thread (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5145) if you missed it, and the September Forgery Challenge thread (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4788) if you missed that too.
As one month goes by, another one opens up. The October Forgery Challenge (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4001) has opened up, and this month's category is FFA, or free for all. The map submission thread is located here (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5167).
Mini Contest winners (A month of sweat)
In the XForgery update for September 13th (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4843#A New Contest?!), we announced a small contest which had two categories: either be the most helpful person for one month, or create the most helpful thread in one month. Although the winners may surprise you, here they are.
Most helpful person of the month: Boston (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=530)
Boston has managed to keep his post count up so high, that even we are frightened of his success in this economy. Boston's posts exhibit a helpful and constructive thought, all the while keeping the website alive.
Most helpful thread of the month: Here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4070)
Although the thread may have been started in July, Sharpshooter shows dedication to the thread by keeping it updated. The thread itself describes all of the ranks and gives a brief biography for many of the staff members.
Make sure to say your congratulations to them on your way out! Both winners will be given the Mini Contest winner award (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/awards.php?do=viewaward&award_id=36), exclusive to winning a mini contest.
Sadly, there will not be a mini contest held in this update. Hold your horses though, as we may have a new one in the next update.
XForgery Firefight Fridays (New event!)
With the release of Halo 3: ODST, the upbringing of a new event was in order, and .Timothy did just that. XForgery Firefight Fridays (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4977) is a new event which is classified into two categories, casual and competitive. The gist of the event is to gather up a team on a Friday, and get the highest score on the selected map. If you win, you get awesome prizes, such as a Firefight medal, a week of Supporter status, and Microsoft points for the whole team! What's there to lose?
The most recent XFFF threads can be located in the News & Updates (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2) forum.
Promotions and Demotions (Justified)
This past month has been a bit eventful. As colored and staff ranks come and go, this section is here to announce the changes to you. Not only so you can congratulate people for getting a new rank, but be sure to suck up to them for their authority ;) .
Promotions:
.Timothy (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=531) promoted to Event Director (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=15).
mista tipsta (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=318) promoted to Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7).
AceOfSpades (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=429) promoted to Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7).
Pel (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=475) promoted to Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7).
Demotions:
BabySmuggler (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=225) demoted from Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7).
Sage (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=323) demoted from Review Team (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/memberlist.php?usergroupid=7).
That's all for this month! Be sure to congratulate those promoted if you haven't already, and make sure to not ask why people were demoted.
New permanent feature threads (Simplifying matters)
Thanks to an idea from PsychoBucket, Letol has implemented a new permanent feature nominations and feature vote thread. Due to this, we have a brand spankin' new option in the navigation bar that allows you to go straight to them. Here it is if you're still confused!

Milestones (In due order)
Recently, many milestones have occurred here on XForgery. Although there are only three, they show that XForgery is still alive and running to this day, due to its members. These milestones represent this website's success as XForgery, and give us a greater window of a goal to pass up. The milestones are...
5,000th thread (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5000)
1,000th member (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/member.php?u=1000)
150th social group (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/group.php?groupid=150)
100th social group picture (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/group.php?groupid=147)
(these may be subject to change as I might be wrong)
New Prefix (Preparing for the onslaught)
It may not be that large of news, but its surely important. Prior to Halo 3: ODST's release, .Timothy came prepared for the onslaught of maps. .Timothy suggested a new prefix for the Mythic II maps, which are maps on the multiplayer disk of Halo 3: ODST (Longshore, Citadel, Heretic). The original thread .Timothy proposed can be found here (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4660).
Now that the idea has gone into implementation, the prefix is up for use when submitting your map. The prefix is now...
[Mythic II DLC]
You can find all Mythic II DLC maps here (http://xforgery.com/forum/search.php?searchid=121890).

That's all for the site update this time around. Hope you enjoyed it, and we'll see you soon..
