Anyone else as excited for this game as I am?

If you don't know anything about it, I suggest you read this:

In the distant future, several colonization ships journey to Pandora, a planet on the edge of the galaxy. The colonists are drawn to the planet in search of a better life and the prospect of striking it rich by claiming the vast deposits of mineral resources rumored to be there. After finally arriving, the colonists discover that the planet is barren of anything of significant value other than deteriorated alien ruins scattered across the land. Those who can afford to do so leave Pandora, and those who remain devolve into chaos and lawlessness. Some of the settlers seek to get rich quick by discovering alien technology, but most others are just trying to survive. After seven Earth years, Pandora's orbit brings it to the transition from winter to spring, and many horrifying creatures emerge from hibernation.
A beacon of hope for the remaining colonists emerges in the form of a mysterious vault carved in the side of a mountain. This vault is said to contain vast stores of alien technology and secrets. However, the people who discovered the vault were completely wiped out by some sort of protective force, and the only evidence of their discovery is a scattered radio transmission proclaiming the vault's majesty, but not its location.[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderlands_%28video_game%29#cite_note-Game_Informer_reveal-3)

There will be four playable characters in the game, all with unique skills, abilities, and back stories. As these characters level up, the player can increase basic stats for them such as health totals, ammo capacity, and accuracy. Each character also has three unique focus skill trees to develop making each and every character different even if they start the same. There is also an accessory item type specific to each character.

This game looks amazing. It's a freaking FPS with RPG mixed in. Pure awesome if you ask me.
The weapons are very impressive too, with the latest count being over 17 Million!
With awesome vehicle combat and hours and hours of main and side quests, this game is going to be awesome.
The cell shading graphics makes everything interesting, and things stand out more, which just makes me want to buy the game even more.
Open world, 4 player co-op, it's going to be well worth the money.

Anyone else want this game as much as me?

I was pretty interested when this was shown at E3. The randomized weapon feature is amazing and will hopefully give it a good replay factor. I'm not a huge fan of cell shading, though.

I love this game cant wait to get it. It has 4 player co-op, a AI that completely randomizes weapons so every gun is new and unique. Also the graphics a pretty different which makes it beautiful and excillerating. I think I been waiting for this game for at least 4 months and its almost out. Happy face

For those of you who don't think it has enough, keep researching, cuz the makers have said they can't stand trailers that give away the entire product, and that they ate hilding a ton back.

I'm waiting for the final reviews. Cell-shaded tends to equal terrible visuals, so we'll see. I liked the game better when they went for realism rather than cell-shaded.

Like I said...I'm waiting on final reviews.

I read an article on this a long time ago, the games graphics apperently had a massive shift, I mean it used to look more like fable's graphics, but they were only at 1 million weapons then, I guess they made a trade off, either way I still wait breathlessly for this games release

Is this game any good? I see a lot of my friends playing it, as well as most of you on A Forgery A...

I hate the looks, but I like the RPG/FPS genre it offers...I heard it feels repetitive, but I want to know what you guys think.

I just got it tonight (For $2.50! :D) and so far it has been pretty neat. I haven't gotten far yet but I cant wait to go into my friends games and play some co-op.

Is there any game modes? I heard something about a player vs player fight thing but I don't know much about it.

'Only' is the key word in that sentence.

I'm suprised no one has posted anything about borderlands since it's release.

How is everyone finding it, compared to your expectations? I love it, I was expecting way more city's and allot more people, but it's not that big of a deal, the number of different guns is crazy, so many things to try. I wish the iridium guns were a bit better, and a few more creatures would have been nice, but I love it still. The elemental rounds with regenerating amo really get me. So far I have messed around with a hunter a siren and a soldier. I like the hunter best, my flaming hawk will crush you :p Its been great fun, headshots are bloody characters provide very different gameplay and tactics, sometimes the re spawning goons and monsters are a pain but other times I enjoy grinding to level up. It fell a bit short in variety of vehicles, opponents and friendly AI's but the area to explore, customization, leveling system, missions and of course guns are very impressive.

Anybody have the DLC for this? I've started a second playthrough with a Soldier and have a level ~10 Hunter. But I'm wondering how much value the DLC adds, because $10/Item with 3 packs is a bit much, and to go along with that, which is the best?

I haven't finished the last DLC whose name escapes me. Something about a General's armory. That one so far is definetly my favorite though. On top of increasing the level cap, it adds a really fun new side of Borderlands with lots of new enemies. Also some funny new attractions like the world's largest bullet and new vehicles. It was the last one they released.

The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned was also well done but shorter on content. I honestly thought it was the funniest though. They had a lot of humor and references packed into that one set of DLC. Also the return of one of my favorite people in that game. He plays a small but hilarious roll. I'm not going to spoil it for you though. It's pretty short though but definetly a strong second.

Underdome isn't even worth looking at. There is really nothing there and it's just boring and repetitive arena battles. If you have absolutley nothing to play then this is a great way to waste a lot of your time.

If I had to choose one, I would most likely go for the General Knocks expansion, but the Island of Dr. Ned was also very fun. I guess the best advice I can give is to choose the DLC you want based on the type of enemy you would prefer to fight, zombies or high tech robots and such.

The only thing that the under dome is really good for is its bank where you can store weapons and items you like. I find it useful but for me its not enough to put it over the other two DLC's but for some others it might be.

I have all three. General Knoxx is the best all around DLC. A raised level cap, new weapons, new enemies, a lot of fun.

Zombie Island is fun but short. This one is really only good for leveling up because the zombies are the same level as you.

Underdome is only fun if you have friends to play it with. But when you complete rounds, you can win really good guns.

Sadly when my hard drive broke, so did my level 50 hunter.... I really don't want to start over, it sucks.

Its pretty easy to level up when you're in a high level game. If you joined my Hunter on my second play through, I could raise to level 40 in about 30-60 minutes. If you want to, just let me know.

Anybody that's been playing Borderlands recently and doesn't yet have the DLC, it is 50% off (http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/07/26/deal-of-the-week-borderlands-game-add-on-50-off.aspx) this week.

Also, the General Knoxx Twitter account just became active again, tweeting about new orders sent from the future. New DLC possibly?

I really want someone to speed level me back to level 50... I want to play general knoxx's DLC so bad, but I lost my level 50 hunter when my old hard drive died.

I was bored yesterday so I decided to do a few hours of farming crawmerax to try and find some pearlescents. I decided to pile up all of the weapons from each kill so I didn't have to sift through a ridiculous amount if I kept killing him in the same spot. Well, needless to say, one thing turned into another and I came upon the best way to pointlessly waste time that day. Theres some pictures, stats, and facts below. And don't make fun of my awesome, but ancient, TV.

Total Items - 789

Weapons - 519
Orange - 49
Purple - 305
Blue - 142
Green - 29

Class Mods - 166
Purple - 60
Blue - 101
Green - 5

Grenade Mods - 26
Purple - 4
Blue - 22

Shields - 69
Purple - 43
Blue - 24
Green - 2

Artifacts - 3

Here are some pictures of the epicness:

*Crawmerax dropped an average of 71 items per death.
*I killed him 11 times
*Killed 5 armored guys, 7 maggots, and 2 green guys.
*I died 6 times while throwing all of the weapons off the edge.
*There were so many weapons on the elevator red shield that the area would lag when I entered the cave. Normally it takes 10 seconds to run to the elevator switch but it took me 22 seconds.
*Never died while fighting him.
*I kept 12 items, 9 weapons, 1 class mod, and two shields
*AND I FOUND NO FUCKING PEARLESCENTS

Now you know how to waste your day if you are bored.
