[Event] XForgery VS Monitor Built - Game Night [Archive]

XForgery vs Monitor Built Game Night!

You heard it here first folks, XForgery and Monitor Built are hitting the fields again with another (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3051) Game Night to show off our great creations that we are very proud of. Get out your calendars, cuz this fun, casual event will take place Saturday, October 24th at 8pm Central. Get ready, get stoked, and practice up. You have plenty of time!

How it works...
XForgery and Monitor Built will be having a night of organized gaming on 7 different creations. MB has generously offered us the 4th extra slot.
On October 24th, 2 representatives from each site will get together in a game. The first chosen map and gametype will be put on and the reps from each site will invite some members to play. Once enough players are in, the game will be closed and started. After the game, the results will be recorded.
The members will be removed, excluding the four reps. New members will be chosen.

What will be played...
Since only four of our creations may be chosen, we have to pick community favourites and pride possesions.
So we have come up with a list that suits those standards.

Also, when playing our maps, we are going to try hard to get the creators of the maps in the game.

How do I sign up!?
The best part about WoW this is that you don't need to sign up! On October 24th, make sure you are online at 8pm Central. If you are on A Forgery A or A Forgery B, then you are set. Just goof around and wait for an invite from a Rep. Join, and play! Everyone has to have a chance to play, so you might only get to play one game.

The representatives are ME and BOSTON!

If you have any other questions, be sure to ask! If you ask, you'll be helping out other people who probably had the same question.

Yeah, for Stickball, Master Debayter should definitely accompany me. He has owned with me the past couple games we have played it together. I think Hadokenchild should accompany us as well because he ALWAYS plays it, but I honestly think he is from Monitor Built so he might be opposing us! Haha

I wouldn't mind doing that but Battle Tracks is only 2 player teams...we would need at least 4. We could always do another Agents game, especially since they owned us in that last time haha

I'm playing for MB, I think...

I chose MB for one reason: They're the underdogs, they have a lot less members and XF is a bigger site overall. All my life I grew up watching the underdogs win time after time and on October 24th I will get the feel of helping the undedogs win against XForgery.

Some Agents would be good, but I don't think Ghost Town would be the best... I'm thinking Fort Bradish (Last Resort) or Project Hoven (Avalanche).

Fort Bradish is for more experienced, and it is pretty difficult to play on because of the constant multiple levels. Project Hoven could be nice though, but I believe its power weapon, the Sentinel Beam, for some reason doesn't show up anymore...other than the Cyrus Compound, I like both Time Glitch and Sotha's Ghost Town versions the most.

True, Tactical Corps isn't 100% done, yet. All that's left is the forging for Streetside's final incarnation. The layout is drawn up and done, we just haven't been able to Forge it yet.

If Sotha was able to get on this weekend and Forge with me, we could probably finish it up and test it, in which case you could use it.

If we do manage to pull that off, and Tactical Corps is chosen, I recommend VIP, Slayer, or Assault.

If you guys can get this done and tested before the 24th, I would highly recommend that we play this instead of Agents. Nothing against Agents, but it has been played already. Although all I played was the VIP version, it was really awesome!

I think part of the reason why we have Game Nights is also to show off our cool and interesting gametypes/maps, not just to win. One thing is for certain, Monitor Built will surely like the cast of games we have going.

I'd definitely say give this one a shot. I remember playing Agents on that version of Rock Solid and really enjoying it. If you guys end up choosing Agents, give this map a shot.

I don't know yet if I'll be able to join you chaps that weekend. I might have plans with some friends for a movie + dinner. No idea at this point in time.

So Agents on the Rock Solid variant? Sounds like a cool twist. Any objections, because otherwise, we should go with this as our final game, or well...here's what the lineup should be.

Parents are watching a movie right now :(

They should be done about 30 min before the Game Time, but if they try to watch a second movie or something I will be screwed...chances of that happening are slim, but its a Saturday night and it is the only night they have off together so normally that's when they always watch movies and stuff...still count me in for playing though. I will make it well known in the shoutbox if they won't let me on to play...even if it is for just a couple games...

As of right now, MB is winning the series 2-1.

Game 1: Stickball on Stickball Ct. - XF wins 13-2
Game 2: Agents on Rock Solid - MB wins 3-2
Game 3: Conquest on The Hollow - MB wins 9-6

I think I sent you an invite. Not sure though. I wanted you in there for Agents though. I remember seeing you were in MM with a party so I figured even if you wanted, you wouldn't ditch all your friends. Next time, you must help because I am sure Agents will be up there again!

Lol didn't you have to go anyways though? But hey, at least your winning percentage while playing is .500. I'm at .333, while poor aMoeba lost all 5 games he played haha. We should have had the Agents game though. I even think we stood a chance on the Hollow.

I don't know about MB this time, but last time they kept the same players for all the games and we tried to involve as many players as possible and kept changing people. This automatically puts us at a disadvantage so I wouldn't feel bad about losing.
This is pretty much what happened... again... I looked at the games and they hadn't changed out as many players as we did... if any. Looks like the only time they changed people on their team was when someone had to leave. :thumbdown:

Its not like we care that we lost. They were a good few fun games, that we also lost. Last I checked we're not complaining.

Like i said various times, the 3 staff that wanted to play couldnt. At the start i invited everyone online on my friends list and the MB one. 2 people filled the 2 open slots, but before they joined, they had a party of three, and wanted him in. So after that game we traded out and got him in. A game or so later we got Urban in. After that IDunc switched out to let JestMx in. Then Idunc swapped with Jest for the last game if i remember correctly. In total we had:

RPAL
IPirates
IDunc
JestMx
Isle Of View
Urban Myth
Broken

Its not that we didnt swap out, its that we dont have the 1,000's of active members you guys do. We have a mere 50-100 active members out of the 664 registered.

(TBH, after the first game i was scared we would lose.)

I think it was fair enough. If MB doesn't want to switch out their guys, there's nothing against it. I for one enjoy that XF allows as many people possible to join. The community always gets a say and I think that is a great type of "government" we have here. Though I always hated telling someone they had to leave (which was only like twice I think lol).

RPAL and his demons just owned us again! Next time we will have to do better :)
