My gametype Boxing is exactly that, you punch people and they die. (I haven't been in the custom games community that long and I'm not sure if this idea has been done before.) There is 4 rounds of 25 and goes pretty quick, especially with a lot of people. It is pretty popular with my friends and those I have played it with. This is more about the gametype than the game itself. I have developed two very simple maps that work very well with this gametype, Boxing Arena and Scooby Doo Hallway.
Gametype Information
Free For All
3 rounds
4 minutes
25 kills
Plasma Pistol (for fist beatdown)
Infinite Ammo
No grenades
Kill= -9
Beatdown = 10
Assassination =10
300% Damage Resistance
300% Damage
No Shields
100% Speed
With this arrangement it is near impossible to get a shooting kill and if you do so, you lose 9 points, and who wants that?
Boxing Arena
Very simple square sized foundry map with a crate to give the map a small twist. I have updated the original map I made which just consisted of double boxes long side up next to each other creating a walled off area. This new design is fence walled off and has a ceiling to top it off, complete with aesthetics that you think you would see in an arena as well as other fillers to give the map life.

I'm gonna getcha!
Scooby Doo Hallway
I originally designed this map for fun and to see what it would look like in theater, however on a sporadic test i tossed in the boxing gametype, and it worked tremendously well. It is basically a hallway lined with teleporters all on channel 0 so you never know which tele you are coming out of. This formula combined with the tension of boxing creates a new fun experience.

Double beatdown! (we call this happenstance, boxing)
