Well the IRC for H3F is sort of empty. So I figured if a lot of people knew about it and how to use it, it'd have more members show up.

The easiest way to connect to IRC is to go to the homepage and click "IRC Chat" link. However this is a lazy way to do it, and I'd suggest getting an IRC client.

The IRC client that I use and find was quite easy to set up is ChatZilla.

First off, you need Mozilla Firefox. It's much faster and better than Internet Explorer anyway, so even if you're not using ChatZilla, get this.

You can download it for free here: Firefox Download Page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/)

Once you have it, you need to get ChatZilla. ChatZilla is available here: ChatZilla Add-On Download (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/16)

Simply click "add to Firefox" and it should add it (unless your computer isn't functioning properly).

Then you can restart Firefox, and run it. When it opens it should look like this:

Except for less tabs and a little less text.

Then your going to want to pick a name. Type in the bolded text:

/nick "your nickname here"

And that'll be your nickname. Then register it by typing in:

/ns register "your password here" "your email here"

And it should register your name.

Now you're going to want to screw around with preferences. Open ChatZilla>Preferences. It should look like this:

Here are the steps (marked in red):

1. Make sure you're on Global Settings.
2. Switch to start up.
3. Add this to the "auto connect url": irc://irc.bungie.org
4. Hit apply
5. Then hit okay and disconnect by typing: /quit

After that, reopen ChatZilla. Now reopen Preferences. It should have a new tab (and you should've connected to when you opened) for Bungie IRC. Now go to the Bungie tab. Here's an image to help you out:

Steps (again)

1. Click the IRC-bungie tab. Click the "Lists Tab"
2. You're going to be adding these commands into the "auto-preform" section of that tab. This section makes it so that these tasks are auto preformed when you open ChatZilla. Add /ns IDENTIFY "your password".
3. Add /join #Halo3Forgery. Now when you join you'll be signed in and the Halo3Forgery channel will be up.
4. Apply.
5. Ok.

Now type /quit and restart. Now everytime you open ChatZilla you'll be logged in and will join the Halo 3 Forgery channel.
