Gametype Name:
Friendly Fire (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=91285716)
__________________________________________________

Description:

First submission, first real effort, and even the first finished thing! Whew...

The basic idea behind this was from years and years of being "that" guy. You know, "that" guy that betrays you for hours on end and kills more of his own team then the enemy.

Well, "that" guy presents...

Friendly Fire! :D
It's pretty much free for all with out auto aim. I have only made two maps so far but I'm keeping the core rules: all power weapons don't spawn until late into the game, power weapons don't have clips, and no type of "Grav lift" kind of items.

There is only one team, this team can only get kills by betraying there own team mates.
There is no shields, no radar, and little damage resistance.
Receivers are placed as spawn points, the spawn points themselves are placed in senders, which are placed in non play areas. (Thank you sarge & Phoenix)
Power weapons are flame grenades/thrower, snipers, brute shot, rockets, trip mines, and lastly a sentinel beam. (only ones that will ever be used mind you.)

This actually sounds pretty interesting. I might've gotten really good at betraying after all those forge hours when I got bored when there was someone else in the game.

Congrats on your first post here! Hope that your activity continues!

Actually, this is exactly how OVERBOARD! was started. But we found that weapons without auto-aim became cumbersome which is where the grenade only approach came in. And then we moved it to FFA instead of actual betrayals because we wanted somebody to actually be able to officially win, because as a team you have a team score, not individual.

A while after OVERBOARD! was released, I think it was wiggums, came up with the Underplank gametype, which was basically OVERBOARD! on the same team with standard weapons. And that seems to be exactly what this is, but I don't think he ever posted it, so you are in the clear. ;)

Gave me a scare when you talked about "Underplank."

I was going to post an infection version which boils down to half of the people can auto aim one another, half of the people can't. I was wondering if it was to similar to team zlayers to post?

I've actually already created a gametype like this just called Slayer Pro, betrayal based with slightly modified settings. 90% speed, slow regen shields, and 110% damage and "ghost traits" on respawn (they can't do anything, no damage, invulnerable, etc.). With these traits the game still feels like standard slayer, but adjusts for the no auto-aim and the increased difficulty of killing people.

The only problem I really had with my gametype was that people spawned with their teammates and I had never found a way to truly solve that problem. The recievers idea was probably the thing that I needed, but that means that you would actually have to make maps for it.

I tried to keep my gametype as similar to slayer as possible so it would be an easy transition for people.

This does sound like a great idea, I just think it is too different from standard slayer. Oh and no radar does sound like a great idea... hope it plays well and if it does I may just give up on Slayer Pro and build for this... lol. If I like it would you mind if I worked with you to perfect the gametype?

Also as Null said, great first post and welcome to the site good sir... hope you stay active...

I'm really bad at making easy to get into gametypes, I catch myself changing things that contradict the main reason for the gametype just so it's different.

I still need to buff out a few kinks in the game, would really like to work with you and make a perfect gametype for the feel.

Yay! You remembered me! Yeah, I made basically the same thing, but didn't think it was worth the file share room so you are fine.

I had a similar idea in mind that I had hoped would be compatible with OVERBOARD! maps - it would have been team based, and your mission would be to die, but you would loose points for suicides. Hence, you'd have to try and get your teammates or enemies to kill you. If you don't use it, I probably will, but it's just an idea.

Since I wanted to show the maps, and sister gametypes to this. Should I just add them to this post because of how simple the add ons are?

Yeah, that would be a good plan. If it's a full fledged map pack, consider posting each map individually.
