Well I was looking at some free demos on xbl the other day and saw how many arcade games their really were. I thought there has to be some great games on there there just has to be. I have a few I really like so I'll throw them down here and you can too.
Small Arms- This is one of my very favorites it combines XMen like story line, 360o aiming, an arsenal of weapons, unlockable characters, guns, animals, and most importantly supper smash brothers. It is basically the 360's smash brothers. Same type of maps but more realistic, fall off you lose a life, double jumps, item pick ups, scrolling and stationary maps, four person multiplayer, lots of unlockable characters and maps. You however in this game have to be able to aim, move, jump, shoot and get to good items at the same time. It takes some getting used to. I could talk forever but I decided to just show a video.

I'll add my other top three soon.

This game to me is by far the best arcade game on marketplace (untill Battlefield 1943 anyway). The game play is great and the comical characters and plot make for a very fun game u can enjoy with you and your friends of all ages. Plus the weapons, orbs (pets), and other characters u unlock from beating the game, make u want to go back and play it again. I've also attached a 8 minute gameplay of the game, just in case you still alittle iffy about the game.

I can always play BeJeweled... The guy's voice is epic, and it can go on forever.

However, my favourite Xbox Arcade game has to be Wik: Fable of Souls. The pure old school button combos are awesome, and it's not just pure button mashing, it's timing with them too. It's 2D, and gets really complex by the upper levels, but I always loved playing that game.

I couldn't find a 360 video for it, but there it is.

This is actualy my second favorite. One it has 4 player on line co-op. It also has a huge weapons and items collecting system. Countless characters seriously I had at least 20. There is one plain middle school humer level in the game though. I was really good but stopped playing when everyone did the boomerang cheat. I heard they fixed that and stripped away cheated xp so I may give it another go.

Marble Blast Ultra, N+, and Castle Crashers/Braid. Not sure about the last two, on which to pick.
Marble blast is great fun when I'm tired and don't want to pop in another disc, or I just don't want to play something like Halo. N+ is really great for its co op and map maker which is super fun, and you can customize your ninja and whatnot. Castle Crashers and Braid are great too but more on the expensive side.

I don't really buy arcade games at all but I did end up buying the remake of Bionic Commando when it was featured as a Deal Of The Week a few weeks ago for only 400 points. Ah nostalgia, sweet sweet nostalgia. Other than that I've only DL'd Carcassone and Undertow cus they were free at the time. But I did end up shelling out for the expansion packs for each of them.

I really enjoy building levels and sharing them in N+. I've built 2 whole episodes (10 levels) and I'm working on a third. It is really fun.

I still play it quite often and was wondering if anyone else has it.

These and the Geometry Wars demos are fun to play. I dont really see the need to buy the full game (GeoWars) for more "gametypes".
I tried out Small Arms, it was meh for me.

Ok I never said you had to like it it's quite good when playing with others. We kind of have a honor rule to not play as the freeze guy. It's multiplayer is great Id agree story is a little meh. As for geometry wars I most definately agree that you really don't need the full version.

I liked geometry wars as well but like others didn't feel like needing to buy the full version. Metal Slug is also a good game u can play co op with ur friends and TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as well.

I love anything my Behemoth. The 2 games theyve made are Castle Crashers and Alein Hominid. Castle Crashers is great but after youve done everything like unlocked all the characters and stuff it gets boring.

You got all the stuff in the expansion already? They just added lots of weapons and a few characters.

i have N+ and DOOM, i play them every time i get bored with halo 3. I've played Braid Small Arms, and Geometry Wars. Those are all pretty fun. I've play the demos for a ton of (arcade)games, and there are many cool ones.. if only the prices weren't so high on them.
Also there are many fun Community games that are lots of fun, Miner Dig Deeper and this RC Air Plane game that i cant remember the name of are some of the most popular ones.. but soon it'll be AZN's!

Castle Crashers and Geometry Wars have it hands down for me. I love both, even though I havent purchased the full Geometry Wars yet.

I got the full geometry wars and I have to say it's not all that worth it. The free version would have been plenty for me.

Wow some great games.... castle crashers, geometry wars, N+, and small arms are all great.
If you guys like games like small arms, I highly suggest an XBOX Community game Called ZP2K9. It's fun as all hell and has online multiplayer of up to 10 people. It's like small arms, excepts takes alot of stuff like KOTH and CTF from halo...a s well as deathmatch...
The community game that I am working on will be a game similar to a mix of Small Arms, Gunz Online, Stick Figure Flash animations, ZP2K9, N+, Halo, Armored Core, and Too Human... lol lots of inspiration around... hopefully I can get a good demo in a couple months.
Anyways, here is ZP2K9:

Yea I see the small arms resemblance for sure I'm gonna have get that. Graphics ain't realy near small arms but I care more about game play. The map in the vid was a little less open then small arms and more hallway like. I could maybe see that getting a little cat and mouse ish but then again maps like hyrule temple on smash bros. have similler lay outs. This was the kind of game I was hopeing would pop up in this thread. Thanks for that AZN and your game sounds sweet.

A community game called Colosseum. Definitely a great game.

Colosseum is actually one of the few community games that I bought... that and ZP2K9... and Canadians, what more can you expect from a community game eh? lol... that whole game is done by one person... art and all...

1. Marble Blast Ultra-Lots of levels. It took me forever to beat them all under par time. Now I am trying to get better scores than all of my friends XD
2.N+-I don't even own this one due to lack of funding but I play it so much at my friends house.
3.Banjo Kazooie/Tooie-It is Banjo. N64 was beast.
I don't see why people enjoy Castle Crashers??! It is so incredibly repetitive and boring. It is just boring Button Mashing. I played through one level then was bored and had my share of it. I am glad I was only playing it at my friends house. I really need some MS Points so I can get Banjo Tooie and N+. And the CoD 5 Map Packs.

Get ZP2K9 if you have 200 points to spare... maybe we can get a match between a bunch of XF members... :)
I know Castle Crashers has been said already but I would like to second that statement. It is soo addicting and so much fun. Its got a simple but good plot and I am in love with the graphics. I love the colors and shapes and characters. Anyways, I will stop molesting Castle Crashers with my love and let this thread go back to its discussion. :)

Portal was epic. So was Castle Crashers though

I don't know if I'd call portal an arcade game though... None the less I still play because the game is still alive...& I want to get to the cake... One of the strangest endings ever.

I have to second the above opinion that castle crashers = overrated. I got the trial and made it through a whole level by mashing one button and I only died once.
N+ FTW

Um it's a trial, it's the first level, and is set to easy what do you expect. As you move on through the real game you can challange yourself much more.

To me that means maybe I'll press 2 other buttons. Honestly it's just not my genre. Any game where a noob can beat an incredible skilled player by throwing a controller down some stairs isn't for me.

I actually played a new one called fl0w (I think). Its really cool, you're a fish and eat stuff (not like feeding frenzy, which is cool too). You guys should check it out.
