Group Suggestions

There are a few things that I think would be awsome to see in groups some I think would be fairly easy to impliment some maybe not but I thought I would throw them out there anyway.

1. This one I think would be fairly easy which would be to allow for email notification of a groups discussion or even the whole group if that would be easier.

2.Group announcement messages. It would send a PM to all group members titled with the groups name then anouncement. This should probably be left to the group leaders and in the message the leader could talk about upcomming events and anything else that all group members should know. A member should probably be allowed to opt out of recieving them but autamaticaly recieve them untill he does so.

3. Sticky-able discussions. Very self explanitory and I feel that stickyable discussions would really help organize groups making them more awsome. You could give every group just one for news, events etc. if thats simpler.

Thats all I can think of at the moment Im sure I might come up with more but if everyone could discuss these suggestions and add their own or explain the imposability of some of the ideas that would be apreciated.

I would just like some notification when someone posts in a social group. People always forget about them, and it's hard to be active in one.

I like 1 amd 2 to a point. Social Groups aren't really popular for discussions. A mass PM would be good for planning events though.

You can already subscribe to Group Discussions. When you are in a discussion, go to Discussion Tools and it should be right there.

There was support for entire Group Subscriptions, but vBulletin removed it, because there were too many bugs. A newer version was recently released with that support added back in, but we have yet to upgrade because of the difficulty behind doing so.

I'll poke around and see if somebody else has made anything like this yet.

I really like this idea, but not sure how easy it would be. Again, I'll look into it.

Ya #1 is already there. 2 is a nice idea. Maybe a blog thing like on Bungie. and Maybe a homepage with the news like on Bungie would be cool. Then you could click to the forums from there. That would be insanely hard I know and I doubt it would happen but it would be cool. 3 is an alright idea too

There's the description section that you could update to host news and such.

Hmm this is true however members couldn't see older news and the caracter limit and news at the same time might be difficult. Also a news sticky could be discussed and a news letter would be more of a notification to show those who don't look or forget about the group. I'm somewhat preferable to the news messages since they remind members who forget to look. The idea is helpful and I will look into it, so thanks alot.

I think if there was a notification for a new post in social groups, would help a lot. Maybe not for every post, so you don't have 20 new notifications, but maybe 1 notification that people have posted in a social group would be good.

Oooh good idea from that what if your groups emblim or symbol was to say glow or have a blue square in the bottum corner or something to notify members that there is at least one new post. It would catch the eye of anyone who's looking at their profile. Any opinions?

Well If Your On Alot Then Its Just Text, you can Subscribe to Discussions in there And It Will Tell you If somethings New.

I added the ability to Mass PM members of a Social Group, which can be found in the options at the bottom of the Social Group page if you can Moderate the group (i.e. You are a Mod, Admin or Owner of the group).

Was unable to find anything to allow stickied discussion.
