April Forgery Challenge (We missed a month...)
Check the new posts today? If not, then you probably missed the New Forgery Challenge!!!!!

That's right, this month is a Challenge built all around our recent XFOG, Conquest. If you don't know about Conquest, I'd go read up (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1505), because it is a lot of fun!

And make sure to make sure to check out the April Forgery Challenge (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1753) and make a new Conquest map!

Random Ramblings (What your mother never told you about XForgery)

This time on Random Ramblings....

If you are on Blak-Ice, which is the default Style when you register, then you might have some issue keeping track of which posts you have and haven't read.

Wouldn't it be nice if XF kept track of all of that for you and allowed you to mark all of those posts you just read, so you didn't have to filter through them next time?

Well, have I got news for you! XF does this with the click of a button!

In the Navbar at the top, you'll see a series of buttons. One of these buttons is titled "Links".

And it looks something like this: http://xforgery.com/forum/blak_ice/misc/nav_links.gif

This little button will bring up a menu with lots of helpful options.
One of these handy options is entitled, "Mark Forums Read".

http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo114/Null_Parameter/Updates/April/MarkRead.jpg

By clicking this, you are telling XF to mark all of the current posts as being read, so you'll never have to seem them again!

Those on Default have a similar method of doing this, but there is also a built in link into the bottom of the Forum list on the forum homepage.

I hope to see you next time on Random Ramblings.

Now, get out there to Nominate (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1740) and Vote (http://xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1767) for your Favorite Maps!

I had to ask about that "Mark Forums Read" button since it's oddly placed in Blak-Ice. Those are quite some milestones though.

Very nice milestone, though they are NOTHING compared to our inbred third cousin Forgehub :P

Nah, that's just mean.

They're our fourth cousin

But nice update, and sadface that I can't compete in the forging contest, but I doubt I would have a good entry due to no Foundry's FAIL.

:P

Why can't you compete? And there are still plenty of good, open maps to forge on, like Avalanche.

i like those stats better than the ones at Forgehub. I like how small this site is. its more relaxed too

I'm lost as to why that would prohibit you.....

Oh yeah, it's much more laid back and friendly here.

Thanks for the notification on the Forgery Challenge too, that's something I'm actually considering. Anyways, it's way cool to know that we get like 3 members per day on average, and that we still have a very active community.
Yays!
