To all future... uh... clients? Sure, I'll go with that. To all future clients, you can now take your portrait all by yourself using these maps!:

This means that I normally won't be taking requests anymore, but if you ask really nicely, I might just make an exception :P



So basically, I've been making portraits such as this for my friends since 4/28/08:

(Please note: Whichever pose you choose, your character will still be the same size and in the same place in the portrait. The only reason the two example portraits are different is because I took the first one over a year ago.)

(Please note: Some weapons will look better with Pose 1, others will look better with Pose 2. If you don't like the outcome and wish to try out the other pose or another weapon, just ask for a retake.)

(Please note: I'm still experimenting with some things when I take portraits, so the outcome is always subject to change. Some of these things could include angles, poses, location, etc.)

(Please note: I'm currently having some troubles when I make renders. A white outline will appear around the spartan, and this problem doesn't seem to be ceasing. If you ask for a render, I'm going to assume that if you are actually going to be using it for something and that you have the skill required to remove the white outlining yourself.)

I've seen pictures that I've made for friends like this put up on their fileshares, saved in their Screenshot Galleries on B.net, and even set as their Trophy Shots on B.net. If anyone wants me to make a portrait like this for them, post a message here in either of the formats, depending on which one fits your needs.

If anyone ever wants a retake, just let me know. This includes if you want a retake of the same exact thing (you didn't like the angle/pose/position etc.) or of different settings. Also, let me know once you have your picture or if you chose not to download it so that I can upload new images in the fileshare slots I'm using.

Finally, I think I'm going to keep this to myself for a little while, I've only shown 3 people in almost a year now hahaha.

I wouldn't really call it an issue, but if someone wanted to set the picture as their trophy shot on B.net or put it in their fileshare, they would need to download it. Basically, I have 2 slots that I've decided to use for the pictures that I take for people, where as the rest of my fileshare I'm using for other various reasons. Whenever someone downloads their picture, I plan to go ahead and put up the next picture.

I guess it kind of does, I never thought about it that way lol. And I dunno, it all depends. I'm still improving on it, and believe or not I'm still finding new ways to use this 'little trick' of mine. I'd like to keep to myself, it makes things like this a little more unique, though after a while I guess I would share it. I dunno, I guess only time will tell.

The poor camo idea was pretty creative, but I'm afraid it didn't do much besides make your character look a little bit darker, being as how the background was completely black. Either way though, let me know if you'd like a retake for any reason, and otherwise I hope you enjoy your portraits!

It's not an actual room, I created the black background myself lol. I looked at that map though, and couldn't you tell that there are no effects in the Portraits? I know that atleast Pen & Ink is on and required in that 'Black Room' map.

Thanks, I never really knew that. I haven't ever really had to do too much with transparency, but this will definetly help any other renders I do in the future look better.

There's the redo, but it's kind of weird. I don't know where that white outline is coming from, I used the pencil tool this time. It kind of looks like a sticker. I dunno, it probably has something to do with the way I'm doing this, like it must be feathering itself or something... I don't know. It's weird. I don't like it. Let me know if you'd like me to try that one more time or would like me to redo the portrait again.

No, that will keep happening As long as you save it as a .gif file. Aperrently who ever desighned them made them for only white background sites..The only way to get rid of it is to go back using eraser and delete each pixel one at a time.

No, that will keep happening As long as you save it as a .gif file. Aperrently who ever desighned them made them for only white background sites..The only way to get rid of it is to go back using eraser and delete each pixel one at a time.

Yeah, I could have both spartans in one picture, but I currently can't do anything about/with #8. My computer went up recently, and since it's very troublesome to replace a motherboard, I started using a different computer. The thing is, I had Photoshop on my old computer, but I have yet to find the disc I used to install it the first time around. Then, to add on to that, I can't even get on to my personal computer for around a week or so, so I couldn't reinstall Photoshop right now even if I found it.

So anyways, I'll get to making the portrait sometime soon, and I'll go ahead and send you a link over B.net when it's done.

You might want to give this a second go while you've got Halo 3 running, there is no Security chest and "light blue" isn't an available color ;P
