What is the Halo Community Charity Marathon?

HCCM is a fundraising marathon with some of the largest Halo communities participating. It's been put together to celebrate Halo and bring the communities together for a good cause. What cause? How about Child's Play (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/)! 100% of all proceeds will go straight to them.

What can I do?

First and foremost, you can play Halo Reach with tons of friendly people! You can partake in donating, but it isn't necessary. If for some unfortunate reason you can't play Reach, you can watch us play on UStream.

When does HCCM Start?

As of right now, we are planning for a weekend in August (more details to come). When a concrete date is set, everyone can get in on the action by joining up with one of our many hosts for some Multiplayer action. Hosts will most likely be playing some theme, such as Race maps, BTB Matchmaking, Minigames, etc.

Well there are! Loads of them! To win one of the minor prizes all you have to do is play! The more games you play the higher your chances of winning are. For every $1 you donate to Child's Play you gain an entry to the Major Prizes Raffle.

Really a great event idea. Great to see we're using the creative minds of XF to set up events bigger then your typical tournaments and competitions. (Not that those aren't fun in there own right.)

I salute you XF, good causes that bring the community together like this makes me remember why I used to be such an active forum-goer. I don't know how much I'll personally be able to play over the weekend of this event, but I'll do my best to get in to some games. I'll also definitely be pitching in with donations. Good to see some others have already as well.

This is definitely the best event here on XF since the Forgetacular testing sessions in my book. Any luck getting this some attention from the Bungie Blog or other large advertisers?

Sure. But you'd need their email address or something, and specify it in the comment box that it is on behalf of that person, that way we have a way to get in contact with them if they do win.

We have a couple Machinima groups signed up, and they're talking about live streaming their games. We also have another group that will be streaming for some chunk of time on the night of the 5th.

And when they aren't streaming, I'll probably have a webcam setup, so you can stare at my lovely face while you make fun of me for my terrible skills and pyramid of Mountain Dew cans.

I'm not 100% sure what you're asking here, but if I go based on what I think you're saying, if you win something in the raffle, you are free to send/transfer it to whomever you want to.

Just a heads up for everyone, I will be hosting a party on Friday from 12 PM CST to 6 PM CST.

How the party will work:

8 or less people - matchmaking
9-16 people - random customs

For XForgery, the Flying Zero has become the flying heart (anyone can wear this).

Now regarding armor effects, heart attack was a no brainer. If you have it, wear it. If you don't have it, that's fine. If you plan on getting it, it will set you back 300,000 cR.
