Welcome to the latest installment of Tuesday Night Tests! Here we get to test unfinished work by the community so that one day it can be finished and released to the masses with a positive reception. If you have a map that needs to be tested and you need buttpirates cool guys, this event is for you. If you like to play customs, this event is for you! If you want to know the color that's between yellow and green, then this event is for you. (Hint: It's chartreuse).

How do I get my map tested?

Here's what you need to do:



Post your map in your fileshare and link the url to your post along with the gametypes you want to test (Limit 2 gametypes per map)
Please state how many players the map plays best in (4v4, 6v6, 8v8 etc)
Please don't submit a map that has been posted elsewhere on the site. We want raw, unreleased work still in the testing (or beta) stage.

In the event that you're unable to participate in the testing sessions, but still want feedback, please start a thread HERE (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=120) along with a link to that thread in your submission post. If you participate in this event but the map creator isn't in the party, I strongly suggest you give them feedback in their threads. The more feedback they get, the better the map will be in it's final version.


I want to test maps!

If you don't have any maps to test, no problem! We would love to have you around and help others perfect their work.


This event will begin @ 7:00 PM EST (4:00 PM PST) and will last around 2-4 hours depending on submissions.

Below are the hosts and what time they will begin testing. If the need arises, the party may split to accommodate additional players or maps that have a certain player requirement.

Description: This is my first city style map. It is made to me so the roads are dominated by vehicles but the rest is close quarters combat. See the feedback thread for much more information. I have updated some of the things that made people angry last time. I hope it plays better. I will not be able to make it so hopefully I can still get some feedback.

Hello All,
If there is room this week, please test the updated version of Deliberation. I added foot paths to the top and level and other tweaks based on the feedback I received, and added speedpile.

I will almost certainly be joining everyone for another great night of tests (Unless Portal 2 gets shipped to my door early in which case *cough* I think I might be sick), and this week I have a map of my own to submit. The map is more a proof of concept for a gametype I designed, but it should still be a blast. I hope.

The classic slayer gametype is the matchmaking version so if you have that version you shouldn't need to download this one(Note that is it not the default classic that shipped with reach)

I might try and put dunes in later on but they don't really do anything

Here's today's schedule (subject to change):



Deliberation - 8 players
Skybox - 10 players
Bridge - 10 players
Reciprocal - 10 players
Ferocious Kitty - 12 players
Letol World Redux - 12 players
Evac! - 12 players
Block Party 2 - 16 players
Bloc 22 2.0 - 16 players

As usual, party will open up when the player requirement increases. Space is limited for the early games.

You guys have until 6:30 PM EST for any last minute submissions.

P.S: Dieabolical, how many players are required for your map?

Ah, what the hell. One more time! This time the weapons have been modified, some power weapons disappeared, a few weapon placements have been shuffled.

Damit! That's always my gameplan!! lol

We should test Catacombs, and really test for these "frame-rate" issues during an actual game! I've never had issues with the frame-rate on that map in the past... Regardless, its up to you Alzarahn. We can always play it another time, and play like 3 games in a row on it, and really look for it.

Well, TNT is for unreleased versions of maps. Catacombs is complete and posted, so that would be going against the spirit of TNT. :( But if you want to help me test it some other time, I'd be glad to have the help. What I really need is someone with 4 controllers on to test the framerate.

Sure, you know I'll help you whenever you want..... and whenever I'm online :). I don't own 4 controllers though, only two. From what I've heard, they're only looking for 2-player split screen frame-rate issue-free for the Cartographers. Regardless, I don't think you have any issues, but we should get some solid testing done on it someday, just to put it to rest.

Deliberation:



Additional ramps to the top was a nice addition. Hallway should be a little bit shorter or have an exit halfway to the hallway.

Map had very nice flow.
Weapon placement was very nice and balanced.
Speedpile was pretty good. Flag placement was questionable. Moving flag #5 to the bottom might be better.
Overall map was really good.

Where the missile launcher is at, replace it with a plasma launcher.
Check respawn times on vehicles and DMR's.
Overall it was a pretty decent remake.
Spawning was fine.

where they too high or too low?

the vehicles spawns times i had them at
mongoose 90
warthog 120
ghost 120
those are the same spawn times as they were in halo 3 except that the ghosts were not on the map.

the dmr time/needle rifle time is 30 when it was 10 seconds in halo 3 so i uped it slighty

I will elaborate, as I was there and Tim does enough work as it is.
The Ghosts were constantly on the map, and need a higher respawn time (probably 180, maybe even 200)
The warthogs were mostly fine, as they were killed quickly, but up them to 140-150.
The mongeese were perfect.
The needler rifle and dmr should be decreased down to 15.
I realize you were trying to mimic the first one, but ghosts play differently from choppers and we lack the missle launcher to kill them.

I would do one of two things:
1) Change respawn times
2) Change grenade launcher to plasma launcher

And then retest the map next week and see how it goes. Otherwise, great map!

I would like my map to be tested and to be downloaded as much as possible even though I have tested it thoroughly. Lockout Xtremity has no framerate issues and plays great on splitscreen.

Okay, yeah I have tested it thoroughly but you can never have enough testing for a map. I want feedback for my map, end of story. I posted this map in the map section of the forums and thats all. I have never been apart of TNT and I would like to participate.

If you want to play it with people then put it in SNL Not TNT

as Iron already said TNT is for unreleased maps
