OverviewDo you love the smell of the great outdoors? Can't get enough of the sun's warm embrace against your skin? Are you dying for a little taste of adventure?
Of course you're not! It smells like animal feces in 'the great outdoors', the sun is way too hot and bad for your skin, and 'adventures' are overrated and are either a ton of work, dangerous, or both! I'm sure you'd rather sit around playing Halo then go on an outdoor adventure, but with 'TSOASE' you can at least simulate the experience of an outdoor adventure. Y'know... without the bugs and whatnot.
'TSOASE' is an acronym for this week's featured map: "Tim's Sweet Outdoor Adventure (Special Edition)". This name may sound familiar to some of you, for the author of the map, .Timothy released the first version simply called "Tim's Sweet Outdoor Adventure" around 5 months ago. The original version received quite bit of attention and praise, despite never before being featured here at XForgery. Now however after some recent tweaks, changes, and other modifications to the map, Tim's Sweet Outdoor Adventure Special Edition is getting it's well deserved Feature honors.
Tim's Sweet Outdoor Adventure Special Edi- actually... screw this. This map is an impressively long race track featuring many different unique areas which cause it to give off a 'Marathon' like feeling. One minute you're strolling along a rather inconveniently bumpy valley with giant rolling balls of death passing by peacefully, then a couple of minutes later you're rocketing off of a stunt ramp, only to be weaving and twisting through mountainous terrain a few minutes later. The many different looks of the map combined with it's sheer length make's it hard to quickly grow tired of the map. The fact that the map works smoothly with Mongooses, Warthogs, and Ghosts too also makes it difficult for the map to become stale. Despite having 31 checkpoints per lap and the average lap taking an around 6 minutes to complete (rough estimate), TSOASE still remains very spacious on the track itself. This means that you can duke it out with a 16 player party and slowly destroy the wonderful land you're competing on with all of the hazardous exhaust fumes, or you can take on the great outdoors by yourself, attempting to get the fastest lap time possible. The amount of distance that Tim's Sweet Outdoor Adventure Special Edition covers while still keeping the track spacious is a testament to Timothy's careful planning and foresight when building it. Be sure to leave your comments on the map, and/or your best lap time in a reply below, and don't forget to download! Thank you.
