RESULTS

All this week there was smack talk going on between XF and Paradox. Originally a staff affair, we expanded it so community members can get in on the fun. It was a good thing we changed that, or otherwise the results could have been a lot different.

The layout of the event was simple: A best of 3 matchup that could extend to more games in the event of a tie. However, that would not be the case for this battle as it was decided in 3 games. That's not to say the games were a blowout either. Each match was bloody, brutal, and down to the wire, with clutch performances from each side. It was a lot of fun and I really wanted to get more people in, but we settled with 4v4.

Well enough of my blabbering, let's get down to it:

The Teams:

TEAM ROFLCOPTERSARUS

.Timothy - Douche. Bans spam bots and people like meerkats for his amusement.

RPAL - Former Monitor Built admin, now fighting for the side of good. Also is pretty l33t at Halo and famous for his mini gametype "Stealin your flags".

Dieabolical - Current Event Director. Famous for his forging work. A couple of his maps have been seen on the machinima.com series "Halo Reach Forges"

timmypanic - Resident XForgery member. Also shares the same name with the hatredcopter but has a heavy British accent.

l33tmeerkatslol - showed up in game 3 of the battle. Smells funny and says "about" wrong (guess where he's from).

THE PARADOX LOSERS

BeheId - Started his whole mess by hitting the hornet's nest one too many times. Can he back up his words from earlier in the week?

Mander - Pretty cool guy. Then again his site is affiliated with ours so of course he's cool! Too bad he's on the "other" team.

I GLoRY I - Eats BK's for breakfast. Has his sights on the XF crew.

Creech n Spawn - Appears in games 1 and 3. A solid addition hoping to demoralize XF.

Dr TecH Ex - He has a prescription for XForgery, and that is total humiliation.

Overall Mood: Dysfunctional

Paradox won the coin toss which meant they would pick the maps for games 1 and 3 while XForgery had the lone game 2 pick. If we were going to win this battle, we had to beat Paradox once on their turf!

That didn't happen in game 1.

It started out positive for the flying zeroes. RPAL and myself were barking at their locations but we weren't as aggressive as Paradox, and they knew it. There was quite a bit of a standstill towards the center of the map but Paradox soon got aggressive and raided our base. At times it looked like we could rally back and re-take the lead, but paradox was there to put us back in our place. I did troll RPAL and yoinked his assassination attempt. :P

Overall Paradox was the better team, and the results proved that:

Final: 50-43, Paradox leads 1-0
MVP: I GLoRY I

Team XF decided to use it's lone CTF pick on one of XForgery's recent features. Alzarahn's masterpiece proved to give us an early advantage as most of the Paradox team never touched foot in these darkened halls. After each team went back and forth making stabs at the other's flag. A successful mongoose run by RPAL and myself got us the early lead, but it wasn't too long before Paradox responded with a cap of their own. What looked to be a tie was ended when Team XF performed a counter-offensive strike to return our flag and capture theirs to seal the victory!

Final: 2-1, Series tied at 1-1
MVP: RPAL

Crazy King on Countdown

Overall Mood: Crazy

After a roster change that brought in meerkats, Paradox decided to settle on familiar ground for their king pick. Countdown, one of the few solid maps for Reach, plays pretty decent at King of the Hill, and much like the last game, it took the entire 10 minutes. For most of the game, it was a back and forth struggle with both sides barely hanging on to a lead. It wasn't until a few clutch hill captures that we finally started to get some breathing room, and during the final minutes we had a very comfortable lead. With 40 seconds left in the game, we realized victory was ours and the battle was won!

Final: 114-89, XForgery wins the series 2-1
MVP: Dieabolical

So there you have it. XForgery rallies after losing the first game to win the next two and is the clear winner!

Or are we......

While we did win when it counted, Paradox had some impressive stats of their own and won in almost every major statistical category! If all 3 games were slayer type affairs, the results could have been a LOT different. Here's a couple stats added up from all three games.

Paradox

194 kills over 138 deaths! = 1.41 K/D
87 Headshots!
Paradox MVP overall: I GLoRY I

XForgery

136 kills over 198 deaths! = 0.69 K/D
51 Headshots!
XForgery MVP overall: RPAL

So how could XForgery pull out the victory when Paradox was obviously the better team?! Just like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop, the world may never know!

Hopefully we'll do this again in the future Paradox, and maybe with some more people so we can do games such as Invasion or Invasion Skrimish. You guys were a blast to play with!

:flyingzero:

- .Timothy, taking the green pill. Screw red and blue!

I'm going to watch all of the videos tomorrow, its interesting seeing the games from your perspective. GG Paradox, you definitely put up a good fight. Before the first game, I was almost sure we would haul ass, and boy was I wrong.

I didn't mean to go into the assassination mode on that guy, because it ruined my double kill. >.>

Congratulations. I would have liked to join but it was soooo late over here, maybe next time. Paradox may have better K/D but halo is not about K/D it's about winning.

I have to admit that games one and two were close and very close as it seems. Well, great matches and congrats to XForgery. You showed your skills in the end of it all. Yea, we'll have to play more battles like this in the near future. Until then, games won between XF and PF: 2-0

I nominated it to be played, and Tim had it. Guess it really helped considering I don't think anyone on the other team had played it before. :P

dude u forgot about me....:'( we could have used ya.

Paradox lost the last two games because they were to worried about chasing kills and were distracted from the objectives. Thank god we only played one slayer match, but i was indeed suprised of how well we held on the first game.
