Here are some idea's I came up with that could use some expanding on.
First,
Custom Games.
We should host some sort of regular custom game night that allows the community to get together, and play some halo.
The Custom game sessions (or Cgs's as I'll refer to them) should not be strict, and allow everyone to submit ideas for what to play next, and even have different people as hosts to play games.
The Cgs could be weekly, or bi-weekly, something around those lines, and would have multiple parties that anyone could join to play in.
A cool feature for the Cgs would be releases of maps from prestigious members on these nights, or maybe even allow people to test their own maps.
Secondly,
One suggestion I have was that there would be no special rank for those that have multiple featured maps, so that these people could still become more popular, but at the same time, not become set apart from all the others. (who likes snobby members who think they are better than everyone else???)
Maybe there could be some kind of alternate reward for having multiple features, like supporter status, or something else, that still doesn't make them look and feel superior to everyone else.
Thirdly,
This is an expansion on the "standard gametype" idea that I'm pretty sure we are implementing now.
I have been thinking about this, and was wondering if also there was a possible way to have a Standard map. What I'm thinking is that different maps can be better for different game types. If you had a good map, that didn't have a set gametype, there could be multiple different gametypes for this map that worked in different ways.
I JUST thought of that so I haven't expanded on it much, though I'm not sure it's going to go anywhere.
That is what I got, so you can discuss those Ideas here, call me names, make fun of me, anything!

I like your first two ideas, but the third doesn't really work...
Every map (usually competitive), not just a "Standard Map," SHOULD work for most gametypes, so I don't really see the point to standardizing a map...
p.s. I think we need a cooler name for customs' nights
Well, for the first one we already have TGIAD (Thank God Its Asian Day) we play regular maps as well as new maps during it. I think we normally have it on Saturday

Now, you told me that you read the Weekly Update........

Thursday: Random Features
Friday: Feature Friday
Saturday: Customs Night
Sunday: Weekly Update

Right now, we don't have such a rank. People have talked about getting one, but it is all still up in the air. Maybe I'll put this kind of thing into a Community Vote.

We are already doing this... not this week because there is still alot going on. But that was already the plan. Instead of having a "Tester's Guild" members will be able to sign up for the Custom Game Night to test a map or to just have fun. At the CGN, the host will be passed around based on who has maps to test, but the host will ultimately have control and decide when you guys test maps and when other maps are played, features or popular community maps. The host will be flexible and give in to the party selecting a popular community map when the time seems right. This way everyone will have the chance to get their map tested.

I suggested to Thomas that a member that get's featured should have Supporter for a week or a month to help select the next featured customs(s)... but featured customs are not like FH where they are common, there is only one a week. So having multiple features isn't that often so having a rank for multiple features isn't a very good idea. They will get enough popularity from the feature, because every feature also gets a video with it...

That being a good idea and all isn't effective, because as stated above... most competitive maps work for all gametypes by default. Now I can see this happening eventually with something that is really really good for all gametypes, like somethng that could be in atlas because of it's uniqueness... it is hard to find standard maps like that... but if it becomes more of a big deal we will look into it...

Yeah, the standard map thing just sprung into my brain right when I was about to hit "submit thread" and as I wrote it out, I felt less and less sure about it.

We can try, but this is up to the Event Staff.

We have a system already in place (kind of) where we can award medals to people who have had a map featured, won a contest, been here for X months, etc... The only thing is, the medals that Null and I made on a generator totally blow, so we need someone who has tons of time and experience with PhotoShop or GIMP to help out.
And as AZN said, I'm looking into making a featured winner getting supporter for the week after their map gets featured.

Standard map doesn't seem as much fun as standard gametype. As soon as someone creates a good Team Slayer or FFA variant, nobody else is going to try.

All of these are already in place, or most likely never will be.
