No this is not Interlocking or Geomerging(or Geoglitching as some call it), its just merging. Its close to being the same thing but at smaller increments. Most of the time you wont need to save and quit.

Unique Qualities: One way to geomerge at smaller increments and even interlock.

Geomerging Method: When geo merging and you want it to go maybe only 2in(est.) down, you're going to use the same types of thing you use for regular Geomerging. You can brace your object using any immovable object, though teleporters are reccomended. Once you have braced it, place either a Bridge or a Fence Wall (However many you need to that will get the job done, must be less then the side of the door you are using; either sides or upside down), and place them on the opposite side of the object you are trying to Geomerge/Merge. then place a door using whichever side you wish, use the side you need to get to the right depth.
then tap the A Button and you are set for that.

1) Place a box

2) Place needed amount of Fence Walls, Walls, or Bridges

3) This pic shows difference in how far down it will go

4) Get the door in right position and surround object with teleporters

5) Geomerge needed amount of times and here you go!

Does'nt that look sexy!

Interlocking Method: This is a bit more confusing and really only has about 2 uses: Making interlocked bridges into boxes more smooth/clean, and making smooth/clean free-floating floors/roofs.

I'm going to use this senario: Try to interlock/Merge a bridge in between two boxes to make, guess what? A Bridge! lol

First you need those boxes on the sides. Once thats done, get your Bridge and set it on top of the edges of the two boxes. It is suggested that you put something under the bridge(NOT TOUCHING IT!) like a Teleporter or a Box/Wall just to the depth you want it. Then place how ever meny other Bridges or Fence Walls on top of your first original Bridge(using the same rules as the geomerging technique above). Once that is completed, depening on how you want it to look you may wish to place some braces around it(i always like to). Then place the door(using same rule as Geomerging technique above), on top of all the Bridges and/or Fence Walls you previously placed on the original Bridge.

1) Place boxes and Bridge appropriatly

2) I moved mine above ground for seasy instruction, but if you want it closer to the ground you may need to geomerge a box into the ground abit for reasurance. Or stack walls sideways, what ever floats your boat.

3) Make sure the box is just under where you want your Bridge to be. Notice the crack.

4) Place doors to where needed(most likely you'll need two, one on each side), then make sure you can see the side(or top, depending on which side you use) through the (x) amount of Bridges, Fence Walls, or Walls placed.

5) Geomerge and feel sexy! Notice: The bridge is still visible, mine had a barely noticable bumb, most likely it will not affect gameplay, however if you wish to fix it you can always try again, also if you do not want it visible you can try pusing it down further, though you may also need to adjust other items or objects.

*Bridges and Fence Walls widths are barely noticable, however, they do have slightly different widths. This can affect how the techniques work. On another note, you may also use walls, but remember that they are thicker and will also affect the outcome of your Merging.

I hope this little tutorial help you, and I hope that this was not already posted, I searched "Merging" exactly what I was looking for did not come up. Thanks again, -Friction

I already use these methods, but I think this will help players that are new to forge. Would it be ok if I referenced this in my guide?

I use this when i want just the bottom of a open box below and the hieght not to suffer so greatly. I prefer to use a fence wall and a sideways door. That is the easiest way I can think of to do the open box with no floor on it.

Well you are very well known over at FH, I would hope you knew how to do it, lol. Ya I was mainly doing this for inexperienced forgers, since it is very helpful, especially in Competitive maps.

Sure you can use it, I would suggest putting it a quote or something, please. Though its not really my discovery. I saw your guide it looks really well planned out.

for the bridges if i remember you can just place a bridge on top of a bridge and the lil side things are like doors, they push it down enough to make it perfect =)

Say That Again!

Anyhoo... I didnt know that I could Use Tele-Porters to geo-merge and a fencewall at the top. I put walls around it and just put doors straight in. Thanks for this guide itll help me with my maps.

I never thought of doing it to interlock. I'll have to try it out.

Ya it works great, even for interlocking, most of the time you dont even need to brace the sides(though i reccomend for the best results) but if there is nothing under the 2 objects you wish to interlock, I suggest putting something under it.
