OverviewHello and welcome to another Weekly Feature here at XForgery. This week we're showcasing "Double rainbow all the way". (Or just "Double Rainbow" for short.) Double Rainbow is an incredibly fun and somewhat addicting Mini-Game by Rifte and Seaboro Kibbles. The fact that's it's a mini-game should please a lot of you as a large majority of you here at XF seem to really enjoy them. And who can blame you? If you get a good mini-game and a good party of friends, you can play the same game over and over again for hours. Double rainbow all the way certainly has the ability to be just that kind of mini-game. A good mini-game in Halo: Reach should give you the ability to do something that you wouldn't be able to do normally in the rest of the game. Playing competitive gametypes like Team Slayer on Conventional custom made maps can be fun and all, but you can do generally that same thing in Matchmaking. However I highly doubt that you'll ever be able to constantly fall and tumble down a long rainbow-coated hallway on Mongooses at ridiculously high speeds in a Matchmaking game variant.
The concept of Double rainbow all the way, like most mini-game variants, is a simple one. In Double Rainbow the "objective" of the game is to hop on a Mongoose with a teammate, and reach a destination point at the end of a long and narrow hallway that constantly goes in a downward direction. Upon reaching the destination point you are teleported back to the top of the hallway to go again. You also must attempt to kill other players with the same goal by either taking them out with a sniper, which can prove difficult to accomplish at such high speeds, or you can try and slash your opponents up close with an Energy Sword. However the destination point never moves from it's spot, so the only way of preventing, or even slowing players from getting to the destination point is by killing both members of the team. But really, the point of the game isn't necessarily to go for any "objective" or out-skill the other players. The real point of the game is just to tumble around at high speeds on your Mongoose in a rainbow-coated hallway and have fun. When the game first starts out, you should be able to ride down the long hallway fairly smoothly, but one bump from a sniper shot, colliding with another Mongoose, or even sometimes just going through the teleporter at the end of the hallway, will send you tumbling downhill, and sometimes it will have you flying through the air! So basically you'll start out driving, but it won't be long before your primary source of transportation is barrel-rolls!
That constant downhill rotating movement at extremely high speeds is already fun enough to begin with, but getting the occasional snipe or being able to beat down someone with your sword at such high speeds is a wondrous feeling. Double rainbow all the way is a must-download for anyone who enjoys mini-games, and even those who don't particularly enjoy mini-games should give it a download to see if it can either change your opinion, or just provide a good change of pace from what you usually play. ;) Enjoy the pictures!
