[Scope]

How many of you have seen signatures here or on other sites where people link you to their maps? I know I have. Sometimes, these signatures become cluttered with text and become confusing. What if there was a organized,separate way to link you to other players.

This is what I am proposing. We could have a 'panel' where links to your maps would be kept. We could implement a system where every time you create a thread in the maps section, it would create a link in your panel. This panel could be located above or below your signature or prferably under your post count etc.

We're in the process of rearranging this data to be more accessible and better organized, but there is already something along the lines of what you are talking about.
But, not quite as in depth.

If you look to the left of any post, you'll see a set of 4 "Dots".

By clicking the 2nd one, it will bring up this little section about that person's maps.

And by clicking that link over the # of maps, it brings you to a list of them.

Now that I think about it, we could use that for many different things. Screenshots, gametypes, and whatever else.

Nope. I just went to Blak-Ice and Blak-Fire. Both work perfectly. Dots are definitely there. There's boxes underneath the dots, if that's what you mean.

You might want to make the nonactive dots a little bit lighter. I can not see them, I just know that they are there. I can see the ones in your picture for some reason.

Yeah most people don't realize that those dots aren't just for aesthetics... so we are trying to think of a way to grab people's attention and have it explain itself...
The dots were explained in an update or two...but that's a while back, now, so not many people read them.

Or you could keep the dots and just give them a title like to put above them. Something like "user tabs" or just "Tabs"

Add sprites. Forge sprite for maps maybe....

Bungie Thief Sprite - User Info
Forge Icon Sprite - Map Statistics
Envelope Sprite - Communication
7th Column - Personal Info

Make them all the same shade but saturate the ones that are currently clicked one or whatever and voila...

Putting titles over such small dots would be difficult.

And it will be difficult, but probably doable, to make each of the images different.

Maybe once all the changes to the site are made have once big post telling people all about this kind of stuff or like H3C said use little icons like for the message on use an Envelope, for the maps one use the forge symbol or hammer and anvil. For the posts and stats use the Forgery logo. And for the hobbies use an xbox logo or controller maybe...

If we are going to have different images for each "dot", I'm going to have to look at modifying the code, because right now it uses a single CSS Defined image for all of the dots.
