I saw that Forge Hub had made their own podcast and I thought this would be a truly amazing experience if we tried the same thing it sounds really something that would be utterly amazing if we did this.

That is very true. I still have plans to possibly make mine, but I don't know when I'll have the time.

<_< I've been thinking of a podcast for a long time, they pretty discontinued their 'Forgecast' so it's fair game. Between that, and a lot of sites have podcasts, whether FH has one or not shouldn't be relevant.

Also, we need our own Foundry Map Maker. FH's one is kinda crappy. I checked it out once, found out i couldnt save it, bumped F5...and the entire thing was erased. Yeah, pretty much pissed me off and i will never use it again lol. It also has very little variety.

On a side note, I've been trying to upload sigs/avatars and i keep getting the "invalid file" response, even after i change the size of the images.

The real question is, do we want it to be web based? If we do, I will need to learn a whole new set of things, because anything I make will need to be downloaded and run on the user's computer.

A funny thing is that you can use the Rock Band microphone and connect it to your computer. With audicity you can record with the mic. Its pretty cool.

Thomas is the "Master" in this area as it was originally his idea from the beginning; but a couple other people probably have a say in things as well.

I'm really looking into this with the September updates, I cannot guarantee it because the program that I had chosen to help record over Skype crashes either skype or the program itself because it doesn't like two programs accessing the sound card at the same time.

Could i suggest having Nemi or Ivory Snack or Pegasi getting on there and talking briefly about FH-H3F relations? Nemi did write quite the paper about our relations with other sites, so maybe him. But then again Ivory and Pegasi are both reporters on FH so maybe them. Really up to you. I mean they wouldn't have to stay the whole time. Just be there for a little while to talk about it briefly.

But thats just a suggestion. Entirely up to you

Thanks to Nemi I have successfully tried out this software that allows me to record my voice and other voices as well.So now we actually can record covos now ;]

I thought you were going to use a capture card thingy and record the voice with that using proximity voice. The only downfalls would have been; sound quality would be the same as the headset, and the recorder's voice wouldn't be included.

yeah but null's mic is crappy. i think it'd be cool if you did it while playing a game though (given null got a new mic)

We did it over Skype, the only downfall to this is occasional lag and larger groups will lag more. The voice quality is awesome, almost to the point where you might think we're in the same room with one another. :D

I've purchased a license for some software to record podcasts now, and it's going to be a routine thing with updates or a monthly occurrence; it just depends on if we think we have enough to talk about.

The episodes will vary in length, the first one was around 20 minutes with a lot of off-topic chatter, but some lack of information. I'm shooting for 30 minute episodes so it doesn't kill you to listen to them and you can still get enough from them.

The first one was cut because we didn't purchase the software, yet, but we have it now and we recorded on it last night. I have homework to do (including a paper and designing a website) so after that I'll go through the podcast and fix it up enough to release.

It was actually, because I wanted to test some Skype recording software. But, when I tested it on my own it fucked up my computer and not every noise coming through my mic goes out my speakers, and if I don't have a mic plugged in it just squeals at me.

Hopefully a restart fixes it.

I'm willing to do this again, using the recording software that I purchased for it last time (that's right Parker, I still have it). The only problem that I would have with this is we get off topic extremely fast and by the time it hits production we have already released the update. It blows.

Thanks, but I like how some people create a list of topics, and about how much time should be spent on it and move on once the time is up. I have seen a couple of podcasts that do that and it eliminates some of off-topic(not saying its bad, just sometimes unneeded) and say 5 min on a topic and they put a new topic in after that.
