Description:

So, a few days ago I envisioned a pretty cool idea for a racetrack. Unlike most of the ideas that I think up, I actually did something about this one! In the matter of a single night, I completed the entire track. After the night that I created this track, the only things that I've edited have been the name, the description, the addition of another checkpoint, and the spawns and checkpoints to make the track work in reverse! I'm actually quite happy that I tried the track out in reverse, seeing as how now the reverse version of the track is the forward version and vice versa. So, without further adieu:

Now, when you're playing this track (provided that you've downloaded it), I recommend using either mongeese or ghosts. Also, I recommend that you turn the amount of laps up to five, seeing as how this is a somewhat short track.

It really is funny how things work out... I originally started building this map with warthogs in mind, but soon I realized that warthogs weren't the best vehicle for this map. Then, later on, I also reversed the direction of the track realizing that, for the most part, it worked better going backwards. I'm allowing both versions to be downloaded, though, so if you have a different opinion on the matter, no worries.

Anyways, I'm going to go ahead and move things right along to the pictures to help you understand the map:

This will be the first part of the track that you traverse (unless you're playing the reverse version, of course).

Next up is the large cliffside, or precipice, if you will.

Finally, last but not least, the cove.

So, as you can see, I've pretty much cut up the track into 3 main sections. Each is unique from the other, but for the most part meld into each other. Now, what makes this different from any other racetrack, you might ask? Soccer balls. Yes, that's right, soccer balls!

Take the warnings of these signs to heart, the soccer balls are out to get you! In all reality, though, the soccer ball spawn times allow the soccer balls to not get in your way... too much. They'll mostly just end up being some mild obstacles rolling down the track or across the track. A little while into the race, they'll also begin to clump up at the bottom of the incline of the cliffside section creating a somewhat more challenging turn. Shove a competitor into one and see how much they like making their acquaintance with Mr. Soccer Ball. ;P

Anyways, continuing to move on, here's a video showing a single lap of the track. Both the forward version and the reverse version are shown off in this video:

So now that you've seen the track, there's only one thing left to do... race on it and let me know what you think! Enjoy yourselves, I sure found it to be an enjoyable map. :P

Love this track! Very smooth. Which is partially because it doesn't have any jumps unless you're playing the reverse version. Not that I don't like jumps, but jumps on tracks in Reach very often cause flipping. Then the track ends up being a "the person who wins on this track isn't the most skilled, but the one ended up flipping the least on the jumps" map.

A very simple track, but with all of the tricks, twists and gimmicks being thrown into racetracks these days this is a welcome change. A lot of tracks these days try to go too over-the-top with what they do with them and the tracks end up being a little sloppy for gameplay. Now technically this track does have one little gimmick... the soccer balls. But as you said, they mostly stay out of the way. However... sometimes you're riding down the track struggling to take the lead from the play in front of you... you're right on his tail, bumper to bumper but you can't seem to pull ahead... Then... a soccer ball trips him up, and you immediately love the map! :P Oh, and the person who got tripped will then hate the map, but only if he's a poor sport.

You need to actually FINISH your maps more often Letol. You make some really good things.

Looks pretty good, very smooth and the decorative columns and railing looks nice. I like the reverse idea and the soccer balls. Very simple but looks fun. Also great use of rocks, seems like you had just enough.

Yeah, I tested the one large drop on the reverse (previously forward) version of the track to no end... Eventually, I knew what to do in order to not flip out, but figured that the small adjustments I'd been making worked to lower the chance of flipping. Once other people started playing on the track, I realized that I had just found the right way to go off the jump. Odd stuff, but one of the main reasons that the reverse version is now the forward version and vice versa.

To be honest, I still haven't seen the soccer balls completely wreck anyone by themselves. I know that you saw me smack into them and fly off the map one time. The thing is, though, and I know it sounds like an excuse, but I really wasn't paying attention and just ran directly into them lol. The soccer balls end up being pretty easy to dodge, but add in some variety to the track.

Heh, I would if I could finish them all in 6 hours.

Thanks for the compliments! And yes, I just barely had enough rocks lol. I ended up having to move quite a few rocks around to make everything work right, but as you can see, it all ended up alright. Hope you enjoy racing on it!
