So OVERBOARD! is back with a passion in Halo: Reach. While not the most popular gametype, it is one that turns many otherwise-defunct maps in to maps that are a great deal of fun. At least that’s the case with this map.
The name “Insphere” has no special meaning, other than the fact that players will find themselves on the inside of a large, ribbed sphere. This ribbing is an inadvertent result of the construction of the map, but does serve to spice up gameplay somewhat. Insphere was meant originally as an aesthetic concept, but after the placement of a few landmines, the map’s destiny became clear.

Insphere is exactly what it sounds like: the inside of a large, ribbed sphere. Here you get a shot of the layout, including the ribbing and the triangular structure of the curved walls. You can also see some of the landmines. These mark the intersections of the ribbed structure, and will go off under almost any presence in their immediate vicinity. On the bottom, it respawns once a minute. On the sides, once every 30 seconds. On the top, every ten seconds (because that one’s just so hard to actually hit). But don’t you worry! If you step on a landmine, it doesn’t count as a suicide (unless your grenade’s explosion is what triggered the landmine to go off—then it IS your fault, and you get docked).
There really isn’t much more to say about this map, so I’ll resort to a handful (three) action shots:
