Final Vote

From the look of things, it seems you guys are really enjoying the latest Halo game. Ranking up, getting awesome armor pieces, playing custom maps that could have never been achieved in Halo 3, and of course taking pictures of your awesome spartan (or Elite). With 14 submissions, the competition to claim the top prize is just as fierce as claiming the onyx rank in the arena. In the end, only 3 of these 14 contestants will walk away for something. 1) Cool Beans by Kyyrbes - the angle is awesome. The ring and the sun are nice touches.
2) Psychobucket - the sword looks sweet and it looks like he is surfin'!

1) Grace - Soren515: I really like all the colors in this picture, Its a great view and there is a nice contrast between the foreground and the background

2) Intermiercelah - PsychoBucket: This name is a huge pain in the ass to spell, but this picture is still awesome, Im really liking the angle and being able to see the edge of the sword while the spartan looks directly at you. Nevermind the awesomeness of teabagging the ocean!

3) Blood Cell - Joe is Outside: Very cool effect, I still dont know how you made this, I probably would have picked this for first if there was a little more going on, the right side of the image is pretty lonely

Blood Cell by Joe Is Outside - To put it simply the effect is really cool. It's a bummer that the shot was taken from an angle where the shotgun covers up some of the Spartans face, which typically is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to screenshots, but good nonetheless.

Letol by Letol - That's a really sexy background and you did a good job catching that pose considering you were only in that spot for about 30 seconds until I ended the game. :P Also that's a SUPER creative name. You're so great with names Letol. :-]

Lookout Point by .Timothy - It was hard to pick a third screenshot because there's a couple of others i'd like to give a vote too as well, but I decided to go with this one. It was really creative of you Tim to think of this shot, whether it was set up or if you just got lucky in Matchmaking, it's certainly something I wouldn't of thought of regardless. My favorite part of the screenshot is that your Spartan looks the part, with his armor being green and that grassy little scarf thing and all. XD Nice job.

These two are my favorites because they showcase their spartan in a nice looking way that feels natural.


The rest I can't stand really because I feel like they tried too hard to get a "cool effect."That and some seem to be more about the background then it is the actual Noble Six.
If one of the ones I chose don't make it I'll feel disappointed,but hey not everyone has the same ideals as me.

Power Mad- My favorite of the bunch. The effect is amazing even if a tad obvious and I love the orange spartan and blast against the blue in the picture.

Grace-I like how your guy is looking at the sky, and I love the contrast created by the clouds and the sun.

I'm going to respond to this, because I find it amusing.

I find it funny that you would contradict and state the opposite of what the contest is supposed to be, in direct response to a staff member who was there when the contest was designed and knows what the contest was about.

To quote the original event thread:
"We want you to show off your Noble Six in glorious fashion."

That's it, that is the only requisite and the only definition of what we wanted. Nowhere did we say that the screenshots were to be judged on how pretty they were, how many effects you could throw in or anything of the sort.

The fact that you have the only elite screenshot doesn't mean that it is good.
Anybody can throw "effects" into a screenshot. How the effects are used make all the difference. Numbers don't mean everything.
How does that make it good again?
Funny, I wasn't a fan of the washed-out colors, and therefore didn't think it was "good".
Uniqueness and plausibility of recreation, just like everything else mentioned, does not a good screenshot make. I could make the most random and unrecreatable screenshot in the history of Halo, but that doesn't make it good, in any sense, it only makes it unique.
I actually didn't even look at who made each screenshot when I was viewing them, and I didn't even realize that you were a new member until you mentioned it. We have a good habit of not noticing those sorts of things.
For some people, maybe not, but I know when a jackass is right in front of my face.
