The achievement set for Halo: Reach lists 49 achievements for a total Gamerscore of 1,000 (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/halo-reach/achievements/). That there screen, in the latest Bungie Weekly Update, adds 10 cheevs and 250 Gamerscore. DLC inbound?

This image came from an item on installing Halo: Reach to the Xbox 360's hard drive (Bungie says the game has been optimized for this.) There's no official (or other) mention of DLC on the site.

I hope DLC is coming... and I hope it's maps. I'm not too picky about maps, but so far almost all of the maps in Reach are re-makes or maps made in Forge. Not that they're bad, I would just like to see more new content, I mean... this is apparently Bungies last Halo game, I think they could give some more effort to the maps instead of just making some in Forge and re-modeling old ones.

Now you have my hopes up. If no DLC comes soon and I get disappointed it's on your head Null! >:(

I'm pretty sure they teased this on purpose. I don't think anyone is so dumb that need a picture guide to press a few buttons to instal to hard drive. I think they posted this just to tease it.

True they could just be adding achievements. Might not mean DLC necessarily. Maybe some more achievements for reaching the highest rank in the new level cap, or buying one of the last pieces of armor that are unlocked.

I would love to see them add commendations in free updates every once and a while. That would be great because these commendations just won't last. In a few months I'll probably be done the majority and looking for a new challenge.

Dude, commendations have 5 levels; iron, bronze, silver, gold and onyx... I dont think that in a few months you'll be done with the majority.

I'm at 31% already in like 3 weeks. Majority would be 51% and up which is like in 5 months or so I expect to be at like 60% ish. They don't take long to rank up most of them. If you put your mind to getting Close Quarters kills you get them easily. But in like a little under a year I'll probably be like 75% done. idk just seems like they're going fast already.

Halo is one of the few games i would be willing to pay for DLC soon after release. I would like extra maps but also think a new campaign DLC would be pretty epic too.

Someone said that he went on to train other Spartans but google doesn't show any proof.

If im correct (which i may not be) Halo CE's time span is roughly a week and then Halo 2 and 3 combined is also about a week so the events of Reach is only about 2 weeks before the end of the war, ive never heard of or read anything about the spartan programme after the war. The last thing i know of Dr Halsey is that she is inside the shield world on onyx but there is no mention on Jun, i expect he died on Reach somewhere

If you played the game, you would know Jun left Reach with Dr Halsey. So what Bungie leaves us to believe is, if Dr Halsey lived, Jun obviously did too, at least past Reach.

After the battle the spartan was dead and they captured the female... I would have to say that the spartan was "Jun" and the female was "Hasley".

You are correct but not fully. It takes about a week or two to make a slip space jump so that adds a couple of weeks on.

All I'm saying is that I remember some other Spartan living when I read one of the books a long time ago. It wasn't Jun, either, and the spartan met up with Dr. Halsey, so yeah.

Dr. Halsey lived. The novels are very clear on that point (read First Strike). However, the SPARTAN-class soldiers who were in the novels as being with her when John-117 (that is, Master Chief) found her were a small contingency (about 6) of the SPARTAN-IIs, all of whom are named (and two of whom died at the battle on the Unyielding Heirophant). The only point of ambiguity lies around what happened to Jun, though given the heavy Covenant occupation of Reach, and the fact that he goes unlisted after the end of the game, it would not be too much to assume that he died.

Granted, when First Strike was written, the canon had no consideration for the SPARTAN-III program, of which Noble team (with the exception of Noble 5) was a part. There were a handful of other soldiers with Dr. Halsey and the SPARTAN-IIs when they were found, so it is possible that Jun could have been among them.


Now as for the DLC, I would not be surprised if we see some Vidmaster achievements (or something to that effect), as well as a raise on the EXP cap and a plethora of new armor permutations. We can also expect to see a number of new Forge-based maps, but if they are anything like the quality of the maps that were shipped with the game, prepare to be sorely disappointed (at least, upon further review of the maps that shipped with the disk, I find myself astonished at the lack of effort put forth by the Bungie staff).
