I sure as hell hope that this is "It" (http://i44.tinypic.com/a430j8.jpg)
Picture can be found in the projects section of Halo 3 on Bungie.net :scared:
Yes, it is a real picture.

Notice that all the lines are perfectly clean, all the blocks look pretty similar, there are repetitions of certain pieces, it's symmetrical.... Look close enough and the truth is revealed..... The whole thing is Forge-able......

OVERBOARD!!! I <3 BUNGIE!!!

Environment tag on the screen shot is irrelevant because all the DLC screen shots have it.

I've seen this already. It is real, confirmed by Sketch.

However, if you look closely, it appears that everything is forgeable.

That is literally exactly what I was thinking, the gaps between all the items are far too clean to not be forged. I'm excited to say the least.

It's perfectly symmetrical..... it's....FORGEABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you guys notice the fact that there are actual lights placed on the map as well?

At first I thought it was just an overshield and active camo in the air, but then I realized that the overshield didn't look right, and that the far base was bathed in a red light, while the closer base was in a brighter, bluish light.

Not to mention the color coded columns on either base.

While I'm glad to see that they are releasing a map that is fully forgeable, the open, flat area doesn't seem too large.

I dunno, it could be the view. If you look at the size of the Warthogs, it looks like a rather large space. And nice observation Null ;)

P.S. We loves you Sampson :D Well at least your cake ;)

That's interest, but so far I'm not very impressed. Hopefully there will be some interesting new objects to play with.

My worry is that, while it looks like there are some new objects, they might be too constricting in their structure.

For instance, the odd pyramid shaped column in the center of either base or the dome type objects in the center and off to the side of each base. While these items may be interesting to forge Sandtrap remakes with, I'm not sure of their usefulness elsewhere.

Also, I don't know if anybody noticed the odd, gold/black, square objects on the base. You can see two on the blue base; one is on top of the pillar in the center. My guess is teleporters. You heard it here first. ;)

Actually if you go into sandtrap, in the basement of the larger temple there is one of those symbols on the floor in the center of the room, I think its just decoration.

That is what I was thinking. They better include huge walls that can help you block off maps. Think about it, the walls in foundry could get in the way, but imagine if you had to use all of your objects to make it.

My guess is that the darkness plays a role in the playable area. Maybe if you go into the shadows, something attacks you? And the shadows are, of course, defined by the lighting placed by the user.

What attacks you?

OMG it's a dinosaur isn't it?

That would kick ass.

BTW, about the size, I get the feeling that the screenshot is deceiving in this aspect. Like Connor said, you might notice the size of the warthogs relative to the size of the map.

I think they look more like color influence fx balls. whatever is near them will have that color tint. I think there will likely just be the sandtrap missiles when you go outside the map.

I agree with you that those particular ones in sight only shed a small amount of light, but I have a feeling that there is another light object somewhere outside of view (above, or in the structure in the middle) that has an alterable Light Radius.

The shadow cut-off line just seems too arbitrary to be at one place for all user created maps.

That is about how big the flat area of sandbox will be. To see how they go that go here (http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/halo.forum.pl?read=912877)

Hate to break all of our bubbles, but if you look at the name on any of the DLC screen shots it has the Environment-X tag. I'll remove that from main post.
