Armor Codes Question Please help.

Okay so figure people can answer this for me since I know some of y'all have the game. Will the armor codes effect everyone on the xbox like the Johnson code from ODST or is it going to be only one person gets it. Please Help my brother and I pre ordered the Legendary Edition and we both want all the armor.

No because it saves to the xbox harddrive I think which would make it to where everyone on that system would get it and if you left that system it wouldn't be there, or at least thats what I'm hoping.

It would save to your profile (go to your Memory on your Xbox and check profiles) and only one person can get it. I say whoever payed more money gets the armor. Should of thought that one through.

Well we figured it would be like the Johnson code in ODST and the wraith/hog codes in Halo Wars they saved to the xbox and everyone got them.

First off, DLC is anything that can be downloaded off of the Xbox Live Marketplace. Whether it be a video, game demo, Arcade Game, Maps, Songs, Weapons, and in this specific case Armor.


Each piece of DLC comes with two sets of authorizations. An offline authorization and an online authorization. (Authorization now AU for the rest of the post.)

Your offline AU is specific to the FIRST XBOX that the DLC is downloaded to. Any profile on that Xbox can use the DLC no matter what, connected to Xbox Live or no. However the DLC is limited to the Xbox, not the HDD. So you can't just take your hard drive to a friends house and expect to use the DLC for any profile.

The online AU is specific to the ACCOUNT that downloads the DLC. This account can redownload, free of charge, the DLC on any Xbox. However, only the account can use it while connected to Xbox Live.

My friends and I use this to our advantage to save a LOT of money. I will download the DLC to his Xbox, giving his Xbox the offline AU for him to use at anytime. Then I recover my account to my Xbox and redownload the DLC using the online AU. Then we both get to use the DLC together and cut costs by half.


So what this means for Reach is:
Download the Recon/Elite/Fire armor to the Xbox that has multiple profiles that will use the armor. The offline AU will allow all profiles to use it. As a bonus, if your account is the one that plugs in the armor codes, you can take the armor to any Xbox you want.

I hope this clears things up a bit.

TL;DR
If you download the armor to the Xbox with multiple accounts, every account will be able to utilize the armor.

BUT, just so we all know, this isn't confirmed for the Halo Reach stuff. This is for any XBL DLC. Bungie could put a code in to stop more then one account from using it for all we know.

The Wraith and the Johnson code actually save onto your profile and any GUESTS you have signed on under your name (or any XBL profile who signed in AFTER you) get to use it/them.

So can anyone tell me the answer to this now that the game has pretty much been released everywhere and you most likely have entered your codes already. And the reason we can't spit them is because we both want the flames lol.
