In full agreement. Nickelback is terrible, and you can't believe how much I hear of them here, given that their home town is about a 3 hour drive from Calgary.

While I like Gran Torino for what it was, I really disliked the last 20 or so mins of the movie. Locking that boy in the basement and then the religious undertones that went along with it. Part of me was just hoping he would shoot up the asian gang's hang out.

Yeah, but there was no way he could. That would have accomplished nothing. Because by just shooting up the whole place, there would have been some other cousin that Spider hadn't bugged yet that would want retribution for what happened. Somebody had to be martyred.

I saw 'Let the right one' the other night and I'd definately like to add it to my list of top movies of '08. A swedish film about a little girl(vampire) befriending a normal little boy. Possible the best vampire movie I've seen, next to the classic Nosferatu.
It's primarily a movie about how friendship can help you find your own personal strength. Two lonely children meet and change each other's lives. The fact that one is a vampire makes the movie even more interesting and unique, but it's not the most important plot detail. The cold darkness of Sweden makes the perfect backdrop for the story. It was so refreshing to see a vampire movie that doesn't rely upon cheap scares, fangs and gore. http://images.google.com/url?source=imgres&ct=tbn&q=http://www.cinencuentro.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/let_the_right_one_in_poster.jpg&usg=AFQjCNEKWF-ivtccQxsnrsR2nmlSIAhuUg
