Welcome to part 2 of the XForgery Firefight Finale for ODST. This event will last from September 3rd - September 12th.
With a little more than a week to go, you guys are clawing your eyes out in anticipation for Reach: Watching every video, digesting every bungie update, and prying the brains of those souls who have a copy (legally or illegally). Instead of driving yourself absolutely mad, why not take your frustration out on brutes and drones that deserve it. This is the last XFFF ODST event, which means the last time you can bring out the giant fly swatter!
What is XFFF?
XFFF (previously called XForgery Firefight Fridays) is an event that will test you or your team's endurance on how long you can survive the covenant while racking up as many points as possible. Unlike previous XFFF events (with the exception of part 1), EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE OF WINNING SOMETHING!!! Even if you can't walk away with the highest score on the highest difficulty, you can still win some XF points for simply playing and submitting your best score.
How do I sign up for XFFF?
If you want to regist....oh wait I forgot. There is NO REGISTRATION AT ALL! To participate in XFFF, you only need to be a member of XForgery along with having a valid gamertag. If you have those two, you're covered.
If you've been visiting this site as a guest for a while and been thinking about becoming a member to participate in this event, now is a good time to register. :)
Protip: You can register here: http://www.xforgery.com/forum/register.php
So, what maps are we playing this week?
Originally Part 2 was going to have 3 maps voted by the users. Since there was a tie for third place, and I don't feel like pissing people off unless they have it coming, we decided to go with 4 maps!
http://files.bungie.org/odst_assets/images/ODST_Firefight_Windward19.jpg
Windward takes place on top of the NMPD Headquarters. Here you will be fighting off not only the covenant, but banshees as well. This is also the only map where you spawn with a sniper rifle in hand (respawns have a normal loadout of silenced weapons). Maybe the sniper rifles is the reason why this map got voted by the users.

Security Zone was the first firefight map ever revealed to the public, so it seems fitting that the users voted for it in the XFFF ODST finale. Just watch out for the wraiths and anything else that comes at you. There's only limited cover in this map!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/Shadowsth/99373093-Full.jpg?t=1283499807
Chasm Ten is a multiple story map with plenty of ways to fight your opposition. Do you want to dominate the high ground, or stay in the spawn area and let them funnel to you. The choice is yours! It does come with a catch: Engineers! Keep a plasma pistol handy.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v339/Shadowsth/XFFF%20banners/102171253-Full.jpg?t=1283500205
Last Exit is your last and final stand against the covenant. While it is safe on the inside, most of the good weapons are outside. If you're lucky, you might be able to jack a ghost; however, it comes with the price of limited mobility.
Whats this about winning XF points for just playing?
Glad you asked. If a player or their team can not get the highest score, they can still walk away with XF points if they submit their best performance. Depending on what difficulty they choose, players will get more points if they choose harder difficulties versus players who play on easier difficulties.
Here's the breakdown on points distribution:
Legendary: 1 XF point for every 2000 points scored in firefight (solo or group)
Heroic: 1 XF point for every 4000 points scored in firefight (solo or group)
Normal: 1 XF point for every 8000 points scored in firefight (solo or group)
Easy: 1 XF point for every 12,000 points scored in firefight (solo or group)
So if someone scored 100,000 points for example, here's the math:
Legendary: (100,000/2000) = 50 XF points
Heroic: (100,000/4000) = 25 XF points
Normal: (100,000/8000) = 12.5 = 12 XF points
Easy: (100,000/12000) = 8.33 = 8 XF points
Protip: Decimals do not get rounded.
The best chance to get a lot of points comes at playing on legendary. The trade off is obtaining a high score gets harder as the difficulty ramps up.
Challenges
Challenges in XFFF act similar to Xchievements (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9200). The difference being you have a shorter time to complete them. Challenges are a way to reward players for completing certain requirements, and the rewards vary for each challenge completed. It can range from XF points, to a week of supporter and the firefighter medal!
Team challenges are in orange, and challenges that can be obtained either solo or in a team are in red (sorry no blue challenges this time). Difficult challenges range from 10-15 XF points, while easy challenges are worth 5.
Not including the winner challenges, 12 challenges are available for everyone. Completing every challenge will give you a grand total of 140 XF points!
Protip: Solo challenges can only be done alone.
