In late August of 2007, Microsoft and Bungie started advertising Halo 3 using a different approach that wasn't done before. A monument showing the covenant invasion of Earth (http://tinyurl.com/mdx3d9), an old man reliving his moments (http://tinyurl.com/2ah993k), and a word that brought hope in a time of desperation: "Believe". Now that Halo: Reach advertising is in full bloom, the theme has shifted from "Believe" to "Remember", but before we remember Reach on September 14th, we need to remember the reason why all of us are here in the first place. What better way to give Halo 3 and ODST the sendoff it deserves by reliving the moments of Master Chief and the rookie one last time.
Why do a campaign contest when there's the Reach campaign in about 3 weeks?
That was actually the original plan; however, we have something in store for September's screenshot contest that I'm sure you guys will like. In the meantime, we still have August to cover. Not only that, people have this urge to play the past Halo campaigns one more time before a new Halo game comes out.
Can I do the ODST campaign instead the Halo 3 one?
Yup.
What type of campaign screenshot can I do?
Anything! Scenery, solo, co-op, grunts getting destroyed by your awesomeness. The only restriction is your imagination!
When does the contest start and end?
It starts right........now, and will end on Wednesday, September 1st @ 11:59 PM CST. Plenty of time to get your screenshot, eat some waffles, and do some co-op achievements to finally get your rec0nz (better late than never).
Submission Rules
The screenshot must be taken by you. Depending on the theme, you are allowed to have people help and/or be in the shot, as long as the screenshot is taken by you. (Please read on for methods of showing proof)
Post your screenshot in this thread. You are allowed to change your submission anytime during the submission period.
You can only have one submission, and it must be taken during this contest. (8/20 - 9/1)
Along with your submission, please include:
The title of the screenshot.
a link to either your Halo 3 or ODST fileshare, recent screenshots, or screenshot gallery page on Bungie.net (http://www.bungie.net/default.aspx).
The screenshot does not need to be posted in the Halo 3 Screenshot and Videos forum, but you must embed it into this thread when submitting it. To find out how to correctly obtain and embed screenshots, please refer to this thread (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=561).
Be patient with taking a screenshot. Campaign theater will not allow you to rewind (hopefully that is different for Reach).
