A nice little e-mail was sitting in my inbox today saying "Hey! Look! vBulletin 3.8 is considered stable enough to take it out of beta! If you're still running on 3.7.4, you have to upgrade to 3.7.5 or 3.8 soon!"

So, that's what I'm going to do; I'm going to install vBulletin 3.8 at 6:00 PM EST today, January 12th 2009.

Hopefully it doesn't break anything...

Boards are back online. If you have any errors, create a thread in the Tech Support Forum, as usual.

The process takes less than thirty minutes to complete if it all goes well.

I don't prefer the new Social Group look. It's rather ugly.

It's more organized, though, but crammed.

From this update, you'll be seeing a lot of random changes throughout the forum.

They won't all show up right away, especially in Blak-Ice, since more work is required there.

Thomas did the easy part of installing everything, now I get the lovely job of going through every section of the forum code and making changes to update to the new standards. And, like I said, there are a lot of changes.

For example, on Default, check out the Navbar at the top. There's a new section and some rearranging done all over. Then there is all kinds of under the covers stuff that you will never notice as well.

Like 30 something different template changes... I didn't even dare attempt to change anything.
