Morphine

It has been two months since I started this game (http://www.xforgery.com/forum/showthread.php?t=909) and it is finally nearing the end. There are two submissions for the final version of the map.
Submission A (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=63190432) Updated 1/16 3PM CST
Submission B (http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=63186566) Updated 1/16 2PM CST
I can not stress this enough but do not vote until you have played both maps.
Voting will end on Sunday (1/18).

Does anybody want to organize a time to get together and play these?
I know that a lot of people on my Friends List aren't always on Halo, unless they know they should be there; so this might make things easier to get all of those people to test them as well.
Also Morphine, which version of the map is your submission on? Mine is on the Gauss Version, which we've found to be over-powering during play-testing.

I used the warthog-less truck version.

Sadly, I'm back at work now, so my schedule is more constrained then it has been. Depending upon what you mean by "afternoon", although evening will most likely work better for me.
I think I might transfer my weapons over to that version as well, to give them an even playing field. I might be posting that version tonight (hopefully).

Yes. I'm available evenings this week between 5 and 9 MST (830 and 1230 Newfoundland) if that helps in planning.

I'm letting my friend borrow fallout 3 after wednesday so anytime this weekend or after this wednesday i can help testing. Just PM or VM me (because i might not check this thread) with a specific time/date. Remember though i don't get out of school & home till like 3 PST and that's like 6 EST. Friday Night or anytime saturday would be best

I finished up moving my weapons to the other version of the map, without Gauss Hogs, since the Hogs were way too over powering. I'll edit the new version into the original post (<3 Admin Powers).

I'm going to have to say that you should mix things. I'd go with shield door for start. I'd have:
-No splazers
-No swords
-No snipers (see below)
-No free-for-all
What you're going to want to do, is break up some of the visibility, especial for snipers and rockets and such. At this point you can see pretty much anywhere on the map with the smallest amount of high ground. So I'd definitely break it up a bit with some walls or whatever. Also I'd limit this game to 3v3 and teams only. Some work with the spawns may have to be done (again with visibility, you can see your enemies at spawn sometimes)
Things to keep:
I wouldn't do anything with what you already have. And keep the shield door regardless of weapons. I don't remember it well enough to think of anything else

I agree that the Shield Door is a very interesting addition.
And some work definitely has to be done with spawns, especially in team games.
I thought that spawn areas were set up to handle that, but apparently they didn't do the job, because we were constantly spawning right below the other team's flag.
I personally don't think that the Sniper played a huge role in the game, I only saw it used twice. So, while it may provide power over the map, the ammo is limited as well as the spawn time.
FFA is definitely out for this map. No question about it. I don't think that changing around spawns is going to fix that either.
Personally, I couldn't pick either one, I think that Morphine and I should work together to combine our ideas, fix spawns and other random things.

I would fix the spawns but I don't know how to do it correctly, but I don't mind if you want to do it yourself.
As for the weapons, I just tried to do something unconventional. And while I'm gad you are intreged by the shield door placement, I do not share your enthusiasm for blocking off the elevator to no where. However, I think a compromise could be reached on the weapon placement.

With all the games we played, the map was so crowded that I really didn't get a feel for the weapon setup. The only weapon that I ever found in it's original location was a BR. Everything else was in a trickier area or picked up so quickly I couldn't get my hands on it.
So the big difference I noticed was the shield door, and I was a huge fan of it.
